Ok sooo I have found the leak. Theres a hard line directly under the lower radiator hose on the passager side that goes into the radiator. I traced it the best I could but couldnt figuer much out since 2 go together. It almost seems like it went to the trans. It is the one directly a inch or 2 under the lower radiator hose. Thanks for all your help. My cars had a **** pissy month

Well, what color is the fluid? If it's red (or brown if your fluid is old) then it's trans. fluid. Orange or Green, then coolant. My gut says it's a trans line though.

Yea its the trans line. I posted that when I got a good look at the color. Well hey atleast my trans fluid is a nice red..... I get this is a trans cooler line. Would it be the in or out tho. Let me guess a dealer only part too lol.

If it's the metal that has a hole in it you could cut it and put a rubber line on it and clamp it

yupp trans lines... could it just need to be tightened? not tryin to sound like a ick but just asking

Ill be trying that. Just saw it today. The line new from the dealer is only $20sumthing.

Im not sure what it is. Im going to guess my tune (increase in pressure) and me always in performance shift mode pissed off my already pissed line to the point of giving me the finger

Typically yes, the trans lines are dealer only. The good news is that when I replaced both of mine on the GP they were only $20 or so each.

I don't usually recommend cutting and splicing w/ rubber line as a permanent solution. Sooner or later those tend to either leak, or blow off altogether. Replacing the entire line is a 100% sure way to make sure it's leak-proof for good. About the only good way I could see this working is if after you cut the steel line you flared the end of it then used the rubebr line. Even then you are counting on those hose clamps to keep your $2000 trans from killing itself in about 30 seconds if the line lets go. $20 steel line > trans. replacement due to sudden loss of fluid.

No cutting trans lines for me. Just went and bought it to to this tonight. Id rather freeze than have a sudden loss of all transmission fluid. Any tips let me know Ill be popping back on this thread from time to time

I changed my tranny cooling line on my 08 GP. It is quick and easy. You dont lose much fluid and the hose, from GM dealership was $17.....

hows your regal doing rust wise on the body and under it? mines rust free except for the some light rust on the gas tank.

being we have the same year cars. just curious.

The body actually isnt all that bad but it was owned by a super old dude before me in Chicago. They LOVE salt up here. It ate my trans line and my fuel lines are next but I dont want to drop 130 a pop from the dealer on that. For a 14 yearold Illinois car its not bad at all minus those few things

the road crews like salt here too, i haven't ran into any rusting lines yet and hope not to. i just saw my trans lines last month when bill did my trans swap, they looked good so far. im the 9 th owner of this car, makes you wonder how its still alive???? 218,000 and still starts every morning lol

Thats crazy 9th lol. Im the second owner bought it at about 60,xxx miles now at 70,000. BUT some people know to wash the salt off there cars. Ill need new lines within 2 years I think. I wish I could make them myself then it would be done by June.

good stuff making your own lines doesnt look as hard as I thought. Just get the right flare and nut and your golden.
