i have a 1999 pontiac gtp i can not get the gas gauge to work ive put 2 fuel pumps/sending units in it along with another gauge cluster! still wont work. when i turn the key on it goes to full then falls to empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!
 


The gauge is wired through the PCM and I have seen the wiring bad and the PCM not reading it right :eek: If you can put in another PCM and see if that changes it. Good Luck :th_winking:
 
The guy i bought this from had got a fuel pump for it because the orignal one went bad. So he bought a fuel pump/ sending unit offline for some reason they sent him 2. now the gauge doesnt work. I just cant belive that both sending units are bad ? When it was working before the orignal went bad. Thanks
 
Were the 2 sending units you bought new? Because if you bought them used, they might be as bad as your first one. It is a common problem for the sending units in these cars to go bad.

I had this same problem. Bought a new sending unit and fixed the problem.
