He got some sort of DD install trim plate and trimmed it up to fit around the radio. I'm not sure I haven't seen it all done yet. Should be done tonight

Beauty and the beast. My 1994 Escort GT beater I picked up for $800 to run parts and bomb back and forth to town to keep the stress off my baby. I have no shame lol. 7200 rpm Mazda 1.8/5 speed

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

lol thats awesome! Seems like everyone has a EGT story. Mine runs pretty terrible right now for some reason. It only gets like 22-24 mpg. I have driven and worked on 3 other EGT's one of my best friends had 2 and my brother had one. I remember them getting like 28-30 mpg and pulling straight to 7k rpm. The idea was get a beater that got 30 mpg, dont care what it looks like. I put a new timing belt/water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, set the base timing, O2 sensor etc. Still has no pull past 5800 rpm and only gets 22mpg. Was thinking BP26/BPT swap and 626 .72:1 5th gear but I really dont want to dump anymore money into this POS, it is just detracting from my GTP funding. I also put on front brakes, brake hoses, clutch master, E brake cables, speakers, stereo, twm short shifter, new tires. Ive probably already got $1800 wrapped up in this thing

Well I just wasted $100 and 3 hours of my time....

Sounds EXACTLY the same as it did before! I have to say I can not recommend the "Vibrant 1142 Ultra Quiet" resonator. Nice looking piece, doesnt do anything for my car...

You figure the Rez only attacks certain sound waves. And the other ones are handled by the muffler

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Well it sounded great with the magnaflow cat back and stock manifolds, cat and downpipe. Ever since the headers went on its raspy as ****. Was hoping with the 3" res in place of the cat and the big 2.5" magnaflow res in place it would tone down the rasp a little...

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

maybe try a long ass glass pack in place of the res you have.

putting a cat back on may also tone it down. i know f the cat lol

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

I think the magnaflow res is an issue. It seems that a glasspack res does a better job.

I know it's more money, but they are only 30 bucks.
