What are your IAT's at with that new intake during normal DD driving?

Liked the videos also.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Yea at the dyno I told my friend videoing to get around to the front so you could hear the whine but he didnt. Buschurs dyno is a known heart breaker, I figured it would be low 300's, kind of thought we would see more torque out of it but he didnt start the pull until 3500 so I think it might have been past torque peak anyway. It ran 12.40 so I know the power is there, I dont really care what the numbers say. And hey...atleast it broke 300, would have been a kick in the ass to hit 299 or something. He was flipping the dyno back for AWD and it was my last chance so I just did it.

IAT's are almost always around 8* above ambient below 45mph. Above 45mph they are ambient. When I took that pic with the aeroforce showing 46* it was 45* out. Driving around the city and sitting in traffic if it is 70* out they MIGHT get up to 85*. Havent seen over 100* yet at all.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Nice temps, my IATs while driving are always 20* above ambient temp. In stop and go driving the temps are 50+ over ambient temps. I want an intake like you have one day, good thing I got those bookmarks from ya.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

So I was trying to figure out how Buschur picked up any sort of RPM signal for the dyno on my car being that they never opened the hood. Read into it and found that they used a system called "roll speed calibration" where they bring the car up to 3k rpm in the gear that the pull is going to be done in and the dyno calculates engine RPM based off of wheel speed. This is quite irritating to me because of the obvious problem that my car is a automatic with a torque convertor and the engine RPM is not directly correlated to the wheel speed. So basically the dyno numbers are junk and a waste of $50. Who knows whether they were higher or lower. I asked 2 different employees there if there was going to be a problem dynoing the car because I know they don't work with automatics often and I was told it would be fine. Live and learn I guess...

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

So I decided to cruise down to Woodward last night. About 100 miles south of me. Ran 95mph all the way down no issues. Got off on 14 mile road and made it down a few miles. Heard a loud pop in the front end. Started moving through traffic to the right side of the road. Hit another bump and heard another pop then grinding. Thought a caliper bolt fell out or something. Got out of the car and found this....

damn that sucks man!

does it still hold water... those fins are pretty messed up.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

It holds water but its scrap. The welds that hold the mount tabs on snapped off. It dragged on the ground by the hoses for 200ft before I could get out of traffic. Had to jam it up into the bumper cover to get across the street to a O Reilly's, bought a ratchet strap and strapped it up under the bumper to make it home. Still ended up cruising all night too lol.

Why did I not see you out there? lol I was there from about 9:30 to 12:30, but I don't remember seeing a red GP

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Well FB came through. Brand new fmhe came in today. No questions asked, sent a email Saturday afternoon saying I wanted it warranties. Got a email back Monday saying one was on the way.

Well.....what a piece of ****. This is why demods happen. Had the new FMHE on for a week and checked the coolant level in the system the other day and it was low. So I added some more coolant thinking...OK maybe I just had some air in the system somewhere when I filled it last weekend. Checked it again today.....low again, topped it off and fired it up and this is what I got....

So obviously there is a hole in my IC core now and it is dumping coolant into the engine. The whole system has MAYBE 3000 miles on it, Im thinking **** all this bull**** the IC is coming off for good. Between burning oil, having multiple IC system problems (which also seem to have wiped out both my stock and wideband O2 sensors) the exhaust constantly developing new leaks everywhere, the timing chain damper breaking and whatever else has ****ed up on this steaming pile of **** im about done. It has made up my mind for me. Its getting completely demodded at the end of this season and sold off.

Let me know when the demod starts. I hope you change your mind but I know you were going to look for something else soon anyway.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Sorry to hear man! Sometimes it is time to move on...that's why I sold my Subaru dam thing broke down constantlyl

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Took the IC plate off today and just put the Gen V on non-IC. Put my 3.1" pulley on as it is the only one that I have a belt for without the IC on. Didnt find anything wrong with the IC, no smashes, no damage. Just pissing coolant out for no ****ing reason.

This is the puddle that was under it after I laid it down on the floor.

Puddle of green coolant in the LIM

See, looks like new still. No damage...
