99 gtp...

Re: 99 GTP...ugh...more broken stuff, more work

Put in 16 hrs on it yesterday. Got the LIM, IC and supercharger torqued down and got the front cover and balancer, etc. all reinstalled. Decided I wanted to run my IC hoses where the coil packs sit because running them between the belts looks ghetto. Found some nice molded 5/8ths to 3/4" 90* rubber hoses at the autoparts to come off of the IC plate with. Relocated the coil pack to the firewall, had to extend the coil pack wiring so I also extended the connector that plugs the coils, cam sensor and crank sensor thats on the front of the motor. Ran it inside the main harness around the back of the supercharger and plugged it in behind the snout. Re-loomed the injector wires and tucked them behind the fuel rails, shortened the temp sensor wires and relocated the BBV solenoid to the back of the supercharger so there is minimal electrical connections on the front of the motor.

LIM, Front PCV hose, Long studs for Gen V bolts.

PCV hose connections, no drilling into the front valve cover!

Finished product. This is completely wired including plug wires. Can you see them!?

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

you are a god... when i grow up i wanna be just like you

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

I like it. Would say ditch the heavy cast bracket for one you make and bolt up to the head after tapping/drilling the second hole. However you have the pcv there and don't have the room for a bracket etc.

Looks great.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Just delete the left dog bone and run a H-Body bracket...yea?

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Got my Racetronix fuel pump harness installed tonight and plumbed the intercooler hoses most of the way. Still waiting on fittings for the reservoir.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Intercooler system is finally complete. With everybody saying the pump has to draw off the lower fitting on the fmhe and the tank has to be way above everything else. I didn't know for sure if the placement of the pump above the heat exchanger or the tank being level with the IC plate was going to give me any issues. It was cavatating at first with the water level in the the tank a few inches down but I added a little bit more water and it took right off. Apparently it's not that picky

You will be kicking some ass in this GTP when your done with it, really great work bro keep it up.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Done and running. Had it out tonight beating on it, runs strong feels good. Can't wait to get it back on E85. IC works like magic, I made a few hard pulls down the road before I pulled in the driveway after driving it about 40 miles continuous and I got out right away and put my hand on my custom alum. IC reservoir under the hood and it was COLD, like colder than anything else under the hood. That frozenboost FMHE rocks. 0 kr all the time no matter what even on 93. Once again I find myself disappointed with my boost level. I made a post about my concerns with it last fall going from a 3.4 to my 3.1. It's doing the same thing again with this setup. This car won't make boost for **** and I don't know if I have a problem or if its just flowing really well. I saw a little over 10psi on my gen III with the 3.1 pulley. Now with the gen V and the 2.8 pulley it's still only showing around 11.5psi. I really expected it to be around 13-14psi, going to try my 2.7 on the 93 tomorrow and see what it does.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Try unhooking the boost soleniod if you have it hooked up. I have seen them limit boost by going bad. If you trick it like a guy w/o the soleniod (vacuum operated) you should see full boost.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

I just gave it 2* more timing instead of dropping to my 2.7" pulley. Still 0 KR, could probably take more but im not going to spend too much time on it with 93 in the tank. Just holding out for full strength E85 then ill spend some time on the tune. Probably going to get a 2.55" or a overdrive balancer for it. Would really like to see 14-15 psi through the powerband. The hood doesnt clear the belt wrap either, had to take the grinder to the bottom of the hood and cut some clearance holes in the bracing to keep it from rubbing.
Here it is all completed

Couple new shots of the car with the FMHE hiding in there.

Wash and waxed over the weekend, waiting on my 255/45's to get here to put the torq thrust M's back on. Hopefully before friday so I can have them on at the big Wbody meet.

Stock springs as far as I know. It had kyb GR2's on it when I got it but the springs look original. The rear only sits so low because of the 150#+ of sub/box/amp. Either way no spacers on the subframe or mounts. ZZP 2.25 IC, the bolt tab on my MAF was rubbing and the edge of the belt wrap was rubbing.
I know its hack, I just didnt want it tearing up my brand new belt wrap any worse.
