99 Gt VS. 06 Impala SS

So im headin up the road and this black impala SS is in my next lane steppin on the gas an slowin down like he was trying to intimidate me or something. So we lined up at around a 35mph roll and stepped on it we were neck and neck up until 75mph then i started pullin on him an by the time a let off i had him by half a car length! This is before i had the 20''s an such (only mods i think i had at the time was a k an n filter and my exhaust.) BUT heres thing, he had at least 3 more ppl in his car an it was just me in mine. So my question is this.. Does that much more weight have that big of an affect to where a N/A gt could pull a win off a 06 Impala SS???:th_scratchhead: By the way this happend like 2 years ago but just last weekend my friend with a GTX raced a blk impala SS an he told me they were next to each other til around 60 then the impala started slowly passin him up. Not hinting out sayin my car is faster then his just asking does power to weight ratio plays that big of an affect in this win??
 


I was about to start bashing you like a mother****er... Honestly it could, but not sure about you pulling on him. The LS4 would have the advantage up top due to our weak ass top end and their great top end. There's so many variables.. Weight of each passenger, did he also have weight in the truck, etc etc... Wouldn't really be something i'd write home about seeing is it would pull nasty stock for stock with just a driver in the car.. Hell stock vs. modded GT it'd still pull on ya
 
i raced an 06 SS a while back with my GTP, and he had his fat ass like 250-300lbs girlfriend in the passenger seat and he still pulled on me til about 100 mph. only about a car length, but i still lost. i really dont think your n/a gt pulled on an ls4 up top after 75mph, no matter how many people he had in is car. but thats just what i think. i mean he still has over 100 hp on you.

Keep making up stories though, they're amusing. Did you hear about the time I smoked that CF-18 while I was at half-throttle? Was awesome till he hit the afterburner and blew past me of course.

he is coming around and not starting fights anymore and actually asking questions, yet you poke and prod at the dude because youre butt-hurt for some reason. get a life.

Man u must have some kind of personal grudge against me or somethin.... Anyways yea it actually did happen im not makin it up at all. It was a big surprise to me too. I was most def thinkin the Impala was going to leave me in the dust since it has the V8 5.3 litre and a extra 100hp jump on me. But it didnt, i know i seen at least 2 ppl in the back an 1 in the passenger side when we were racing. I was just wondering how i actually beat him?? lol im still dnt get how i got the win. The weight was the only advantage that i could easily notice that i had over him. I couldnt wait to tell my friend about the win but sure enough he didnt believe me at all either when i told him about it.
 
Lol Yea i noticed that weight does play a big roll in racing. There was a time where me an my friend with the GTX raced but he had 2 extra ppl in his car an it was just me in mine an we ran from a 65mph roll an i had him by almost a car length for about 4 to 5 seconds straight until he started slowly creepin past me!!
 


That could be possible or maybe a LTZ those have duals on them. I know i seen the SS badge on the back of the car and the duals on the back. But the guy i raced was a young blk guy with a blk impala coincidentally it was a blk impala ss with a young blk guy driving it when my friend raced a SS, I think it was the same guy but i could be wrong...
 
LTZ's were just a 3.6 DOHC V6...with all that weight they are SLOW...probably slower than a L36 car
 


I am most surprised that you pulled on him up top, most of the time the stock gearing on a gt makes it slow as hell after it shifts out of second. Not sure on the gearing or motor of what you were racing. Maybe it was an SS clone, maybe it was an SS...IDK...but yes, weight is huge, especially at high speeds
