99 gp gt vs. 2007 mustang v6?

I got a stock 99 grand prix gt and was wondering if I could take one of the newer mustangs that have the v6 in em. Theres a bunch of kids in my area that have their rich ass parents buy them cars and then they think they're hot ****. I know this mustang is just the v6 (why buy a mustang with a v6?). And there's a bunch of other ricers too like hondas with body kits and crap. Anyway, some input on the prix vs. mustang would be nice.
 


IF it is a 5-spd I think it'll be a good race...granted they are turds but a 5-spd car is nice and might have enough low end grunt to hold the FWD 3800 low end torque that were known for, at bay...only saying this because we took the air filter out of my buddy's little sister's '06 V6 Auto 'Stang and it went 15.8 @ 89 or something like that...with a tank of race gas...which prolly hurt it but who knows.

I say video tape it...run him from a dead stop and then from a 30-33 roll (so it is RIGHT at the top of your first)...and if you feel froggy...run it from a 65ish on the highway...because I know those things are turds on top end for sure.

Good luck. I will say however make a intake and get a downpipe (2.5" with u-bend delete) and walk all over that thing...flow mods really help these cars out.

Those V6 Mustangs with a manual and decent drive are low-15's...you would lose. Like with anything, though, a bad driver can make anything happen.
 
Alright I'll try to race him if I get the chance and let you guys know how it goes. I just saw him last night at the video store but he got away before I could talk to him, and I was with my friends in his pos little kia lol. He was with his girlfriend too, that woulda been funny if I coulda raced him and beat him haha.
 
Well like Josh said too...careful if it is a 5-spd car...it might not be too great in your favor...
 
yeah I'm not sure if it's got a 5 speed or not, it might just be automatic. I have a feeling the kid is too much of an idiot to drive a 5 speed haha.
 


even the auto ones do mid 15's, a girl i knew ran her's at the track, it was auto. She ran a 15.5. You need mods dude
