97 GTP The White Ghost aka Pearl

take some rags, lay them in the valley and up to the bottom of the heads, then with a new razor blade scrape the heads, and the lower intake.

brake cleaner and a rag to wipe em clean. same for the blower and the top of the lim, it all needs to be real clean and free of old gasket or dirt or grease.

inside them coolant ports i just used a screw driver to scrape out what i could.

Soaked in purple power overnight and cleaning it with aluminum cleaner. Rinse down and another soak in purple power. Then rinse again and finished.

take a pry bar and in the area where its indented on both sides, then pry them apart. do this over a drain pan cause oil will leak out. unless its been drained already, and even then, a little can still come out.

theres no gasket, its sealed with Anaerobic sealer.

you can buy it at the parts store. or, i used high heat rtv like 5 years ago, it still holding tight. you just use a very thin smear on both sides and bolt it back on, then fill with new oil.

see the dented area in your pic? theres one on the top and bottom, pry the snout off from that location.

I cleaned this off and then some paint chipped off the corner. Is this going to be a problem?

looking good man, I like that you took it upon yourself to find the injector rebuild kit. Good plan those were looking very tired haha. when do you think youll finish the LIM job?

Thanks man!

Yea them injectors were all busted up I couldn't stand it. It was a fairly easy rebuild to do though.

The LIM gaskets job will probably be done next month sometime. I been working a lot at my job lately, so that takes up most of my time. You know the deal.

I'm painting all the parts now. I'm also going to be porting my supercharger and modifying the LIM.

I 'll post pics and keep this thread updated as I move forward.

And thanks again!

sounds like you are getting it done the right way. taking time to port, paint, and prep the parts will be worth it in the end. keep us updated!

Well, first of all I never used that tool before and it didn't come with any instructions. I watch the video Scotty posted and it helped. I just couldn't keep the power steering pump stationary and it was hard at the beginning because the pulley was on there pretty good. I don't think it has ever been removed.

It wasn't that bad though I just didn't know what I was doing.

mine had directions. pretty simple tho, you just need to have the 2 round half's and the ring around them clipped on the nub of the pulley to pull it off. mine came with a few sizes to pick from.

i used a wrench on the nut and a ratchet on the drive bolt. easy peasy.

at least its done. cross that off the list........:th_thumb-up:
