79 Honda CX500 and now 83 CX650

Re: 79 Honda CX500

I'm thinking about pulling this thing apart this winter and redoing it. I'm leaning toward doing a bobber project with it. I was looking back at the pics before I had all the body parts back on it and like the stripped out look.

Re: 79 Honda CX500

Buddy of mine took my 78 CB750SS and chopped the neck on it, we raked it out a little, and went with a 2 up backbone. I put an old harley bobber tank on it afterwards. It looked sweet, but didn't last long. It was a basket case when I got it, spent a year getting the engine and electrical right, and got to ride it one time before the head gasket **** out on me frying the top end. I ended up selling it for parts. Sad day. I miss that bike.

Re: 79 Honda CX500

I'm not sure what to do with the rear. I guess I could lower it somehow but I like how it sits now

Re: 79 Honda CX500

I don't really want different wheels. I won't be able to find a rear and just changing the front I think will look funny

Well picked this up Saturday for $300. Guy couldn't get it running and it sat for a little while. I got it home and had it running in about 10 min.

Well the 500 is going bye bye today :( I'll miss her but I'd rather have the $500 which makes a $450 profit for me on it. :)
