79 Honda CX500 and now 83 CX650

This is my motorcycle I've had for the past 3 years. I've done a little bit to it over the past couple of years. I purchased it with a parts bike for $275 then I parted out the parts bike over the internet and made a few bucks. Dad and I got it running decent then I tore it apart and painted it up.

This is what it looked like when i bought it. That's my "awesome" focus and my dad by it.

This is what it looked like after I painted it and started putting parts back on it.

This is after everything was back on it and it was drivable. Notice I have the rear light tape on lol and also the different mirror. My son's bike is next to it.

This was after taking the mirrors off dad's bike and getting some lights for the rear. My son's crotchrocket is behind it in the pic.

This is me and my daughter on it. I added decals to the tank and I put that stupid sissy bar on it because my wife said she was scared to fall off it.

Now it's sitting in the garage for the winter unless it's nice out for a day or two then I'll pull it out and ride the crap out of it. The sissy bar is now off it and it's looking good again.

I know i thought it was super cool when i did it but then i thought wow that looks like **** so i went to the junkyard and got another deck lid for it lol

it's all good. i was into that stuff too when I was younger. The bike is nice. My dad learned to ride on something like that.

I got her out and was riding around over the weekend. Took the sissy bar off and it looks a 1000x's better.

Thanks. I got new tires to go on it whenever I get around to doing it. Can't wait to waste whats left of these tires lol.

i just ran into a 70 or 71 honda bike, it was all original, and the guy with it bought it new, one owner. it was a bit on the rough side, but it did start right up with 1/2 a kick.

he was cracking jokes, anyone here think they can help me get it started if it dont start lol then he kicked it and it rolled down the road lol

I'll be getting it recovered. For right now since it was so broke down and already ripped I shoved some foam padding in there lol

It's hard to kill and old honda. Mine only has 22,000 miles on it right now.

Got her out on saturday and rode around for a while then put her back in the garage. I'm kinda thinking I want something faster now. It's no speed demon but it's faster than any harley i've ridden with. It makes me miss my old hurricane.

I would like one and they are cheap but I don't know how the wife would feel about me getting a crotch rocket. She doesn't mind this bike because it tops out around 110.

I don't normally ride like an ass but it's nice to get out and rip on it and feel the speed every now and again. The fastest my bike usually sees is about 70 although I think my speedo is off because that's just keeping up with traffic.
