so not really an update, but i felt the need to post anyway.

i got everything in the garage moved around so that i have room to work and, so long as i clean up after i'm done working, still a place to park my car. i am hoping i can put the frame on order pretty soon. i was going to use any earnings i got for christmas towards the frame and from there we can start building up.

i've also been looking at some upgrade ignition systems and was thinking about going to a kick-start only setup when i get that far. convert some of the older electronics to updated components and increase the alternator size all while decreasing the battery size. i'm mainly only thinking about what i need to get everything to run right now.

things like a gas tank, oil tank, seat, fenders, front/rear sets, handle bars, controls, etc. etc. are probably going to be down the line considering i won't be able to make a decision on what i even want until i get far enough to sit on the frame and see what i want to do.

overall, a balls ton of work left to do. it's probably time to start tearing everything down and getting it ready for the new frame. this weekend might finally be it.

Why do you want to increase the output of the stator? And why do you need an oil tank? It's a Honda no a hardley

it has a kick start on it already and i was already jumping on it last weekend. it turns over like butter.

my bike has an oil tank on it stock, so i want to leave an oil tank on it. i'll probably also do a filter relocation and make oil changes hellaciously easy on myself.

i also don't necessarily want to increase the output of the stator/alternator, but it kind of comes along for the ride with ordering a lightened alternator setup. there are either 14A or 16A versions compared to the stock 13A. no real use for it unless i'd want to run a bunch of lights, which i don't, but it's just something i kinda get for free with a better alternator setup.

Where is the oil tank at? I've never seen one with an oil tank. Although most I've messed with have been newer than 75

its right under the seat. the stock tank is ugly. i will be replacing it with a nicer looking one that also has a battery tray built into it.

i'm gonna try and keep this all as clean as possible.

started putting together a parts list for what i want. i'm not even close to having everything i'd need for it to be a running, driving, functional bike.

i'm gonna be poor.

so far:

Boxer frame
Exposed charing system
Cycle-X optical ignition
Remote oil filter kit
Oil tank/battery box
Gasser/Zoomie pipes?

some of them i haven't decided yet, all of these parts are from Cycle Exchange - Cycle X - Honda CB750 Chopper Cafe Specialists, which is a wisconsin based CB750 hot rod shop!

another quick update with zero point to it.

i found a local in milwaukee that does hardtailing of frames for $375. that's a steal in comparison to the frame i was going to buy at $800. now i can put money into other parts like i want to!

had a pretty good day today tearing down the bike.

here is how the day started, 11AM:

soon afterwards i had a pile of parts laying next to the bike:

about 3:00 i started cleaning up and am left with this:

so basically i have to drop the motor out and i should be good to deliver the rolling chassis to a guy i found local. for $500 he is going to hard tail the frame, make some custom forward controls, a rear brake pivot point, and solo seat spring mounts welded on. basically im getting excited.

Nice, some progression before spring. Like where this is headed.

What's the plan for a new gas tank? Custom or just a standard replacement?

you should be able to recoup a lot of cash selling parts you don't need. thats how i only have $50 in my bike
