So today omw to get my sister, my brake pedal started kicking back at me when im coming to a complete stop. Than that went away and 2 minutes later my trans wouldnt go into 3rd. And it wont go to 4th. A couple weeks ago I did a trans fluid and filter change because my trans barely worked at all. My abs light is on so its probably a bad speed sensor... but the trans... am I screwed? Thanks in advance
 


slipping tranny is a slipping tranny, new fluid never helps that. it maybe time to get a rebuild or a used tranny in there.
 
I have a 2008 grand prix 3.8 and when my transmission started to slip and hesitating I had to replace all my shift electronics
 
Well after I changed the fluid and filter it didnt slip at all. It was perfect. Now all of a sudden I cant past second gear.
 
have you gotten it up to 45 mph yet? od wont hold till them, yes your gonna have to get on it some.

i lost 3 rd gear in my tranny, 4 th still held. but you need to open it up pretty good to get it there.
 


I almost red lined it in second I think I was around 60 or just shy i reallyyyy got on it. Wouldnt leave second
 
Sounds like the forward band broke.
Same thing happened to me. Changed fluid and filter, 4days later the band broke.
Have you tried manually shifting it? It should go into 3rd and 4th if the bands broke and you shift manually.
Take off in 1st and shift to second at 2500-2800 and the same for 3rd and 4th.

Dam. 90? Ill have to try it again. I don't really remember.but yes. I tried manually shifting it through all the gears multiple times. ill try all these things again.
 


Is there anything I can replace that might fix it. Tcc solenoid? Anything at all? I don't know transmissions at all
 
was it chugging with light throttle at say 35 mph at all before any of the gears left life?

for a bout 2 months before i lost 3 rd gear, the tach would jump 200 rpm's up and down, like it the tc was locking and unlocking. then 3 rd gear was just gone one day.

used tranny was the fix.
 
Nothing was out of the ordinary. For about 10 minutes my break petal kicked back coming to a stop. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't go into third. I was going like 20 taking my time. Then it just didnt shift. How much is a used tranny? I don't think its anything mechanical.
 


Not at all. Everything was perfect. Besides it not changing into 3rd
Actually it studdered going up a hill for like 3 seconds a few days ago
Is there a solenoid I can replace? the tcc? Idk i just need some ideas. Ill try anything. If not ill just get a used one.
