3.4 setup questions

So i'm wondering how much it will cost to go to a 3.4 setup.
Figuring parts needed will be headers, downpipe, 3.4 pulley, HAI, some type of scanner and a tune.
What kind of horsepower gains will i see from this? Where can i get a tune from? How much is a tune?
Note that this is my DD.

i guess following zzp's recommendations you only need u-bend delete, intake, colder plugs, colder therm, and 3.4 pulley. how many people are going to tell me otherwise?

Don't believe what ZZP recommends they are a business and want you to continue to purchase. Every far is different what works on one may not on the other.

Headers, intake, plugs, tune and first and form most something to scan should allow you to run a 3.4.

U-bend delete will allow more flow but not enough considering you will end up with about 4-5 more pounds of boost. This is why we say headers, bigger primaries, bigger piping, better flow for the added air into your motor. Lean causes pistons to chip and a blown motor, you don't want this. Get headers.

Colder plugs on a 3.4 setup is not ideal. You want the spark to be as hot as possible without causing KR, once you get into a cam, intercooler, meth setup, or something bigger than a basic 3.4 setup you DON'T need to drop to a colder plug, not this early. Factory iridiums are best. Platinums get eaten by boost in these motors, go with iridiums.

Colder thermo stat depending on your area. Some prefer a 180* thermo, like myself (Bear in mind is currently 50* in Oklahoma and this is cold). Considering you are in Michigan where winters are cold, with a 180* thermo it will take a while to get to operating temps and that could be harsh on your motor. During summer weather you could do it ok, but during colder months you want the factory 195* thermo. 160* is insane, do NOT even consider it.

Tune is everything, Need to have it checked while driving with a 3.4 after a tune to make sure you motor is ok with that pulley. Some motors love a 3.4, some still show KR, every motor is different. Thinking your ok because someone on the internet had these parts and they had no problems doesn't mean you won't blow your motor. Safe is the key, unless you like blowing motors, in which case GO FOR IT!!!

^This is what i was looking for. the safely modding thread only tells me what to do, not why and when. Thanks for the productive response.
