280-340 HP build

I may be a little off topic but what is the WHEEL HP rating for a GT, GTP, A GT/turboed and a GTP/Turboed. Im tryin to keep up with you guys...:th_scratchhead:
That is all stock on these cars besides turbo..

GT - 200 at the crank, about 250 whp with everything you can possibly do..waste of money
GTP - 260 at the crank, max out around 400 whp with an all out setup
turbo GT/GTP - usually in the 400 whp range with just the kit and supporting mods

We just had a buddy's car go 12.4 in the 1/4 mile with just N*, S1X cam, Gen5. Was on race fuel and qtp's. He's throwing that setup into a fiero, probably go low 11's. I don't think hp numbers should really be of utmost concern, torque is always on our side!

traction means everything on these cars. i could have a lightly modded GTP take down a decently modded one if the lightly modded one has slicks and the other doesnt.

I made 197-204 hp stock on the dyno. Dropping in the 3.6 this weekend then going back to the dyno in the spring to see what my mods get me.

Well ive been rolling the dice on modding the N/A and well ive done a few things and have gotten a decent amount of power. I was getting ready to order a genV uper intake and HV3 but thats over $300, I just found a complete GTP motor for that.....
I guess i'm coming to the dark side:th_king-evil:

there you go :D

also xp cam is supposed to put you at 300whp with supporting mods non intercooled.

right...

maybe with someone that knows how to tune really really well. 300 whp is in the high 12s range and most cant cut it with just a cam and supporting mods.

true. maybe a zzp tune, i wouldent trust them tho unless they had it hooked up on a dyno and even then idk.

tha nic cam sounds impressive. low 12's headers. but again how knows

I have been reading this thread for awhile and I have a few questions.

First of all, how much can a stock series 3 SC motor take before you run the extreme risk of breaking it?

How much can the stock tranny take?

And finnaly, how do you keep the power on the ground? In my Stock GTP 04 I have some really nice street tires instead of the all seasons and I still have traction issues from time to time. With that being said, next month I will be replacing the entire exaust system, the intake, and probably going to chip it but am worried ill be all over the road.

the motor can handle a damn lot. the enemy is knock which is going to blow out pistons. other than that maybe 400-500hp range on the bottom end.

tranny on the other hand... it just depends on how ruff you are on it. if your always flooring it droping gears yea its gonna go out. its not really a sport tranny. but at the same time if you take it easy on it, people have gone 12's cammed with there stock tranny. but at that point most opt for a built tranny.

and traction issuies. really good meats. i have some meaty good years right now and they wont hook up for ****. before i had some bfg's and they hooked pretty good. also throttle controll. roll into it. it is FWD and when you punch it the weight is going to roll back lifting off the front tires so make a slow transaction.

when i had good tires at the track i was beating alot of cars off the line, like gto's and low 13 sec trucks and what not. so our cars can hook

Thanks for the fast reply. I am not really going all out. Myself like any other guy wants all the power sure, but this is my daily driver and it has alot of power by itself. Im probably gonna stop on the simple stuff that I do and call it a day. If I really want a fast car Ill go get a summer car like a stang or somthing.

Just to help ya'll with a 1/4 mile time estimation i pulled off a 14.4 with the mods in my sig...no engine tune just tranny and a 2.1 60'

wait with all those mods only a 14.4??? In my old gtp i had a K&N intake, 3 inch downpipe, catback, and a zzp pcm and i ran a 14.2? no pulley or anything

Sorry. I changed my sig. It updates it in all the posts lol. I'm at running low 12's with my setup now.
