The tire I'm buying with my rims are actually cheaper in the 245/40 form. Since this is a lower profile I was just wondering what the pro's/con's are of this?

Maybe a good idea to go with the lower profile ones since I'm lowered?

a) speedo will be off more

b) youll feel the road more

otherwise...not much. with the lower profile it will look like the car is lowered more, but it might also increase wheel gap from the fender. it is up to you.

i have 40s and im going to go with 45s when its time to change tires, for better gap filling and a lil smoother ride ,although the 40s arent that bad.i just really dont like the fender gap with them

I currently have 245/40/18's and the ride it a little rougher, but I've hit some good sized potholes and haven't bent my AE 077's. The previous owner had 40 series tires on their as well and never had a problem. In my opinion they also look better on the rim. However even with my SSC lowering springs there's some wheel gap that I want to fill in, so my next tires will be 45 series. I would assume the extra cushion of the tire would make it a softer ride as well.
