So this isnt really a kill story or anything but i had my buddies 10' Camaro SS(manual and 400hp) this week as he was on a cruise and i took him to the airport so he left it at my house...so i took the opportunity to drive it around this week.. all i can say is ehhh... i wasnt really that impressed with it.. i honestly think i could take him lol i think it would have me in the long run as its top end was better from what i could tell.. from 2nd to 3rd it was fun lol def pulls hard but after you shift to 4th and 5th it kinda falls on its face imo.

His mods are intake and straight pipes and i know for a fact that it has 400hp as he just dynoed it a month ago, i know its a heavy car but i figured it would have screamed a little more then it did ya know and i cant really tell if im being more biased towards my car or what but i think i could def have him for a while lol.... however i will say that i loved having that v8 sound for a while hahaha

...even my roomate who was in the car one day said he was surprised too... he was like are you flooring it and i said yep all the way lol... he said he thought my car would take it too, he said yours puts me into the seat lol
 
Yeah road in the inlaws 2012 ss and wasn't impressed...my buddy's g8 is way more impressive even my compg feels faster even though I know it's not...zo6 stock that I drove felt way better

they are good for sucking money out of your pocket and thats about it if he had a 02 35th anniversary one then it would look tons better
 
Just like a good portion of modern day cars nowadays heavy, expensive and unexpressive and my friends wonder why I refuse to get into another car note at this time.
 


Ya we have always talked about racing each other.. if we do i will def get a video, i think it would be interesting :th_winking:
 
The mods you got are kinda unfair dont you think? Haha. 3.0 pulley and supporting mods is rather insane. Give him a few g's in mods before you race so modded price wise you arent 4x more than him lol.
 
Haha ya i am quite modded thats true but figured a 400hp 6-speed car would have been better ya know lol ive been telling him he needs to get some long tube headers and stuff but he is more interested in appearence stuff rather then performance lol.. hes prob put about 6-7k in appearance mods
 
it would be a good race...however i think he will edge you out.
it probably didnt 'feel' as fast because hes got an actual performance car with performance suspension. you shouldnt be feeling all of that pull when you slam on the gas, that energy is better transferred to the wheels.
 


My father in law got a 2012 Camaro SS last year. We've been jawing back and forth about it for a few months. It's going to be fun when he comes up and visits us this summer and I drag his ass.

Most people think pfft ill smoke this ugly grand prix then are suprised when they either loose or win after a better than expected fight
With 330 whp and 400tq its usually anyones race.......

Besides if your talking equal money for mods in response to your earlier comment my money is on Alix0rs car costing less than the entry price of a v8 camaro mustang or challenger INCLUDING his mods.......

Well your sure as hell didn't spend a good $25k+ on that GP now a days... Not to mention how rather cheap it is to mod a GP.. The same can't be said about those newer muscle cars. Plus you don't expect a GP to be anything more then just some casual DD. You don't expect a 400 hp..6 speed to be anything less then fast.
 


That and racing against grand prix is a lose lose anyway. If you win gratz you beat a grand prix, if you lose you just got beat by a grocery getter.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought Cenon's post was simply referring to curb weight. Why are we taking about price/mods and such?
