2008 Turns over but wont start!!

And now I've heard of a PCM that needed a re-flash. Learn something new every day on here.

Though, that GMC might have been a reflash to replace a faulty factory tune with a newer one. Insofar as I know, this is not done with GPs.

mine was a odd deal, the trucks prnd12 indicator would not shift back to park, stayed in drive.( shiftier was in park tho) and as we all know, cars wont start in gear. the dealer came and towed it off. lol

was told the pcm need to be re programmed. lost my truck for 2 days , but it was a free repair, and tow.
 
I'm curious to see how this turns out; it seems we're having the same problem with the 2001 GP that we got-- Turns over, but doesn't start, although dad squirted in some fluid and it bucked right up. Good luck on finding the fix! Have you gotten the fuel pressure gauge yet?
 
I finally ended up taking my car to a GM dealer for a diagnosis. And they told me that one of my ignition coils shorted out which subsequently shorted my ignition control module and blew out my fuel injector fuse. He showed me the shorted coil and it had a huge split straight down the middle of it.
 


Similar issue in my 08.... checked fuel pressure at the rails and its 55psi which is good.... Also check throttle body and its opening... tried spraying ignition fluid into the throttle body and it won't turn over either... next step for me is checking the ignition control module.... is this mounted right under the coil packs or is this located somewhere difficult to get to?
 
Alright I'm just a bit frustrated... Fuel pressure good but no start with starter fluid to throttle body... Maf unplug didnt change anything.... no spark from multiple coils using inline spark tester.. One coil had a crack in it... Took icm to autozone for test... The module is not even showing as connected... Bought new coil and icm... Still no go... Father in law suggested possible alternator fail but I'm thinking crankshaft position sensor ... Anyone heard anything about alternator causing no start no spark ?

Ignition coil cracked... Shorted icm and crank sensor and blew fuel injector fuse.... Started up like a champ after a long weekend :)

Actually I had a combination of problems and a blown injector fuse was one of them. It started with a coil burning out, that caused a surge in the ignition system that subsequently shorted out my ignition module and blew the injector fuse.
 
Actually I was able to fix all of it myself. I paid $100 bucks for the control module and $35 for the coil. And of course I had to pay the dealership a $75.00 diagnostic fee but that sure beat the heck out of their repair charge of $550.00 bucks!!!
 
Good lord we nearly had the same exact problem. I was fortunately spared the crank sensor being fried. Those coils going bad can really cause some major problems. I'm thinking about going ahead and replacing the other 2 coils did you replace yours?
 


Ya my inj fuse was blown as well ... No codes with anything which I know is pretty common with crank sensors ... Stole a fuse from wipers to double check she would start before I ran to pick up spares.... That was the best sound I heard all weekend!!!

Did you go ahead and change out the other two coils?
 
Just changed the one for now but I'm going to pulling another wknd of replacing worn parts n will do the same for those then
