Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Thanks for the kind words guys. It is shaping up to be a pretty cool Mod. My motto is if you're going to do it, do it right!

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Nice looking car. Looks like you have some cool projects going on too.

I'm also in the Metro detroit area.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Love the murdered out look, had that going on my old camaro. Plus your calipers are painted Silver! like mine :)

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

So I got my DMH Cut-out yesterday. I can throw some pics up later.
I'm lowered (SSC 1.7) Am I going to have clearance issues??

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

If anything you may have to roll your fenders.

He asking if the cut out will hang too low and hit the ground.

I doubt you'll have problems, I have the dumb SD headers goose neck bend under my car and it doesnt touch anything, its only 3in off the ground.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Finally, I got the CTS-V Bolts in the mail (30 bucks for 4 bolts!):

Here's my SS brake lines:

And here she is. I still have to connect the brake lines to the caliper and put in the pads, but I'm almost there:

And two quick questions: First, here is the bracket that holds the brake lines to the inside of the fender well. The retainer clip (I guess that's what you call it) wont work for these lines. Do I need to buy some slimmer clips, or will it be okay being "loose".

Secondly, My passenger side SS brake line didn't leak once I screwed it on. The Driver side was dripping like crazy. Am I to assume there is a blockage somewhere, or do you think I just don't have pressure in the passenger side line anymore?

Thanks guys!

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Should be fine leaving them loose. Maybe throw a ziptie on there. Tighten up the lines and they should stop leaking

Okay thanks. I was thinking a zip tie might be a good idea. And by leaking, I meant leaking from where the banjo bolt goes. Once I hooked up my line on the driver side, it was dripping pretty good. When I hooked up the passenger side, nothing. It made me have a complex that maybe I didn't thread my new line on correctly, but it could just be that I don't have any more pressure/fluid in that line.

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

Thanks. I'm in Harrison Township, between 16 mile and South River .
Looks good! If you have questions about the brembos ask Kory (GrandPrix06Gt). I am SCS at 10 1/2 and little mack, and he is fraser. Nice to see another local making good progress!

Re: Winter Projects for the GXP

I'm looking at doing the suspension on my CompG this winter. I was gonna go with the KYB AGXs and eibachs. How do they compare with the ssc's and bilsteins?

I wouldn't really know because all I've ridden on with this car is Bilsteins. But what I will say is the bilstein hd/1.7 ssc combo is awesome. Very firm, responsive. No complaints.
