2007 Grand Prix GXP Snow Tire options

I am looking to get a set of snow tires for my 2007 Grand Prix GXP and I was wondering what would be the best bet. I looked at tires for the stock GXP rims. I like that idea, but I was also wondering if I could fit a smaller rim like a 17" with snow tires. If anyone could help me, that would be great!
 


yes the smallest rim you can go on is a 17'' anything else will not clear the breaks. this is just my opinion some people may disagree with my grand prix i bought uniroyal tiger paw winter tires and there were great and i paid 200 for all 4 brand new from ( canadian tire ) any winter tire is better then expensive brands. Do what makes you feel safe on the roads
 
I appreciate your help! I was also wondering what the most cost effective 17" rim I could get that would fit my GXP right and not break the bank.
 
I have yet to find any 17" steelies to fit, but if anyone could aid in that search that'd be great! Thanks all for your help.
