2005 GP build...

Hey there,
I have a 2005 GP that within a little over a year i am going to be putting a decent amount of money into. It has just over 84k miles right now. It is completely stock on a fresh oil change. The first thing i am going to do is have the car wet sanded, sprayed black and re-cleared again (headlights as well to get the clear shine on them), just to have it shinnying again. Then i am going to drop the tranny and have it completely rebuilt with some goodies in it. Then I'm going to tint the headlights, fog lights, and tails all black.
I have it tinted with my name across the front windshield, and i have red l.e.d. map lights in the front to match the gauges and radio, white l.e.d.s in the back over the seats.
after i redo the paint and tranny, i will build the 3.8 naturally aspired, no supercharger. i am getting decent mpgs right now, but i want to build it up. so what are some good starting mods that i can do to start boosting power? thank you for helping!
here is the car right now. 1472964_10151936152101026_576855808_n.jpg

Why not just buff it out really good. You'd be amazed at what a good detail can do for paint. You're not going to be able to get much power na. sc or turbo is a much better route to go.

Hold on there. An 05 that needs paint at 84K? Dude, I can claybar, buff and wax my 00 GT and it will shine really nice. If you want to throw some money around maybe just take it to a professional detailer and pay the $100+ to have it done up. I'd be willing to bet that it will shine up better than any Earl Shibe paintjob.

On the headlights, just replace the entire housing. The plastic discolors/clouds with age/UV exposure. Easy fix.

Since you plan on boosting the N/A V6 that is in it now, I'd go turbo for sure.

And before you go turbo, go get a transmission from Dave over at tripleedgeperformance.com. He will be able to build it will all the "goodies" that you want and then some, and will actually hold up.

As far as starting mods, I'd be sure that all the mechanicals and suspensions components are good to go and start from there. No sense building up a car for power if the factory parts and starting to rot.

basically you can do the mods in my sig, then rockers OR cam(not both), then heads if you want to spends lots of money. 3:29 or 3:69 gears in the tranny would help acceleration also.
If you don't want to get headers you can get a Plog & downpipe from zzp, easier to bolton then headers
but in the end you will be only be as fast or slightly faster then a gtp, I am happy with the power I make in my N/A and will be getting ER rockers from zzp in the spring, but some ppl want more power then what a GTP makes
