I hung up the intake. The ebay one I bought was Best Car Part (BCP). It came with two aluminum brackets and a couple nuts/bolts. No idea what to do with any of it.

I ended up not using the small L bracket (2nd pic), and for whatever reason thought I needed an extra bend to make the larger one below fit. I flattened it out to have only two bends. The couplers kinda suck. I'd like to change them already, lol.

1st cut. I cut the bracket at an angle up more toward the second hole so it wouldn't sit against the coupler/clamp.

After putting the clamp back together. The extra bend is still present here. I removed the material inside the clamps ring to avoid rubbing. There's a stock hole under the brace. I found the right size plastic rivet, so no drilling.

Oh, the BCM I haven't had checked out yet. I almost thought about buying then trying to resell a Snap-On ABS reader, but that's alotta messin around. I bled the steering of air and the final warning light tonight was "Service Variable Effort Steering" :th_nervous:

I have a couple questions on the Trans-go. Which fluid did you end up using? I didn't look a whole bunch, but couldn't find much specified Dex III local. And is after installing it the time for a bottle of Lucas? I found that, but the bottle's almost a quart. So...less fluid then?

I really wanted to do all the work of putting a deeper pan on and adding a cooler too. But, this whole time/moving crunch n all that's taking point. Thanks again.

You can use Maxlife or Maxlife full synthetic. Walmart has a cheaper Dex VI if you want to use that. The local parts store near me has GM certified synthetic dex VI for 3.86 a quart so it may be worth a visit to a local parts store to see if they have any deals. You will need approximately 6-7 quarts of fluid plus the lucas. 6qts and the lucas should be about right.

So... yeah. I got everything back together. I had a couple days of downtime (gf on work trip). I took my sweet time. Results are noticeable already with the couple putts around town. It should take a tiny bit more fluid in the morning, then give it a run full bore.

I thought the fix was applied for the flexible hose. The clearer pic in another thread proved otherwise. I may drop the fluid again for piece of mind. I'm confident it's holding in place for now.

There's not really much to see; My accumulator on my awesome workbench, lol.

The note I do have is that I had to use Valvoline DexIII, like the pic from the guide (blue bottle). I shopped late, was tired. Didn't see maxlife, but figured I was ok.

I prefer dex 3 over the dex 6 in these older transmissions and at most places it's cheaper by like a dollar.

Switching from 3 to 6 helped my transmission slightly, might be just my specific circumstances.

I did like suggested and stacked the three springs in there. I used the shims and that too. That pic was at like 2am after my daughter was asleep. I was glad I had it because I forgot the placement of the thicker stock spring. Splitting this up into a couple days helped, but could've been done in a couple hours. I'm a little OCD, and that fluid drain on the Lucas takes forever, lol.

It does still lag from a rolling stop. I've read that's a drunken solenoid issue, which requires the side cover off. I don't know how much, if any, that's been alleviated. I felt something pulling in, but that was it's first drive. I ended up adding another 1 1/4 qts so far.

She first noticed it on it's maiden voyage across state lines. I suggested using Manual mode and leaving it in 2nd. I guess it lessens the effect, but I haven't needed to try/test it. It happens so infrequently that just adjusting our driving keeps it from happening around home. Just layin it all out there, lol.

Edit: I've since used Tapshift in stop and go traffic on a very hot day. The car will hold 2nd gear down to 9mph or so before the PCM downshifts. At this point, I can select a 2nd gear start after completely stopping. It masks the effect well, but idk if it's helping at all.

Haha. Wish I'd thought of that, but I had like 6 quarts in then the Lucas. I didn't know it'd run like corn syrup, lol. Took a long time between that and adding pints singly.

Went for a highway drive last night. LTFT's were about -14 cruising 70mph. I have a few logs from Torque (.csv) that I'm not sure how to graph yet.

It looks like my polling's a little slow from the BT adapter. Might have to get a different one. I think the numbers look alright. Not much I can do without a tuner anyway.

I was pretty excited about it, but now I'm just even more anxious. Winter's on the way, and the tools are gettin packed up. Repairs and such while the ground's frozen. We're finally having better luck looking for places to live. October isn't the best month for rental selection. A few more weeks and my daughter can stop asking "new house?" Lol

Lol, the lip is going to stay in the box till next year. I did think about just setting it on to take some pics, but it was raining. Probably not a terrible thing, haha.

I put in a cheap Bosch boost gauge over the weekend. I had to order everything, kinda PIA. Those 1/8" soft tee's in the Help! section? Can't find them. Hard 1/8" vacuum line? Nope. So, I ended up ordering 10ft of blue soft tubing, which is waayyy too much for an 04+, Lol. It's over/around the engine and I have like 4 feet in the car wrapped up. The 6ft of included was probably enough.

The gauge came with a crappy flashlight bulb. I swapped it for a BA9s red LED. The multi-led bulbs really were going to be too bright. One led vs a stack-type does the job nicely.

I have the spare gauge cluster for the LED swap. The lights will be here today. Hopefully, I can make time to move that project along too. I'm swamped with moving, but we did sign a lease Saturday.
