2004 gtp with bad piston

i have a 2004 gtp with 153,000 miles on it. it has ran flawlessly since new. last week on the interstate i stepped on the gas pretty hard and it made some noise. i drove it to the shop that has always serviced it, they hooked it up to the scanner and it said the # 1 cylinder had 57000 misfires. compression check showed no compression. also sparkplug was smashed. valves are intact. has anyone else had this problem. if i replace the engine does it have to be a series 3 . will a supoercharged engine out of a 2002 buick work thanks

yup you chipped a piston. it happens. you run 91 or higher octane?

yes you can use a old s 2 engine, id swap your lower intake and blower on it for ease of install, and the older engine will most likely need intake gaskets done anyway.

you will need to swap a few other parts to the donor engine as well, (oil pan if your is al) oil filter housing, the alt and alt bracket. and i think you'll want to reuse your injectors as i dont think the older injectors will clip into your newer harness.
