2004 gtp comp g transmission overheating

Today I was driving on the highway and city and noticed my trans was running 200. And I'm guessing that's hot. What can I do to lower the temp other then a trans cooler. Please help thanks

200 isnt hot, thats a normal temp for it to be around.

Other than changing the fluid and filter and running a trans cooler, you can't really do anything to reduce the temps.

How hot is to hot tho? I know with my cummins truck 210-250 is frowned upon. My 04 comp G runs 200-210 and Ive seen it hit 230 on a windy uphill section using the tap shift. Are these gauges really that accurate?

They didn't replace the filter?

Slash their tires.

Flush probably won't hurt anything. The filter is super important, though. Get that fixed.

And since you're not taking the car to that mechanic anymore (Right?), unhook your battery for a half hour to let the trans settings reset for the new fluid.

Well these bastards dicked around and 2 hrs later tell me they got a defective gasket and the car won't be ready until tomorrow. I told then the least they can do is replace that filter. Sad part is that I will not know if they actually change it. I'm going to call in the morning and request that I see it.
