• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

2000 GTP: Still Alive! New Trans?

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

the perf shift thing is odd. the bin is set up to have a switch. but stock file says its not supposed to....

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

I guess I should have named that bin "stock." The Bin I e-mailed was the off the PCM I sent you awhile go. IIRC it has the rear 02 deleted, Bill's trans tune, and is otherwise stock. There's another problem the old version had, that I think might still be there. I'll be cruising down the street (in my 64, jockin the *****es, slappin the hoes), coasting with the RPM right at 1,000. Then randomly it'll drop to 500 and come right back up to 1,000. Reptile's tune didn't do this, but that tune has it's problems too, like a weird noise when I'm just about at a tune...a grinding type noise from the transmission. I'll learn more as I have time to scan and datalog.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Well, I started tuning last night. I went for a 15 minute scan, ran the bin and scan through Table Modifier (The Scan Data Thingy), made a new mg/cyl table, MAF, VE, MBTS, and new timing (adding 2* across the board). Then I went for a 45 minute scan. I have KR spikes on downshifts, but nothing on WOT. It's one of those high load, low RPM situations, so I don't know if I need to mess with the TCC settings or what. I'm going to put the normal timing back in (but leave the other new tables) and try and duplicate the behavior. I did make an off board last night. I used an old laptop power supply I had:

Done and working great!

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Uh-oh. Over my head already.... I think I'd have to have what you've got there, to comment intelligently.

Bet you're having fun with the new toy. "Now kids, this is like Daddy's swingset so let him play with it." Ha.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

The box has a small red LED on it, but the cable is just a cable. The green thing on the side is the 3 aux sensor inputs.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Checking out the TP it looks like a goosed it a little (40% jump) and the majority was over in a second.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Yeah, that's what I said last night he's barely at 5 psi at that point. MAF Hz I haven't found the conversion for G/sec or CFM. Is the ECT and IAT in Celsius?

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Yes, it's in Celsius. I had a major problem, I changed the TCC release for 3rd, bumped the idle 5%, and that's it. I went for a drive and when I got on it the car would accelerate then hesitate and "buck." Nothing really showed up on a scan for it, and after 3 full bin writes it wouldn't go away. Somewhere in there I lost my ability to scan as well. Last night before work I flashed back to a ZZP bin I had working before, and ran a CASE learn. No hesitation on the way to work. I finally got it to scan after I got to work, so I went for a drive after work. It happened one time when I had TCS on, but after I turned it off (and back on later) it hasn't happened since. I'm thinking that maybe TAPS got messed up with some of the changes I made to the TCC settings or something. I tried scanning and while I was getting readings on all of the gauges on the laptop, I got 2 invalid scans. I uninstalled DHP and reinstalled it, so we'll see if that fixes the scanning problem. I'm leaving it be until the weekend, I'll have 2 weeks off to play with it. I'm planning to go with a DHP 1.5 bin and fine tune from there.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

That's why I'm starting from scratch, going to do a full write to the PCM on Friday night (with the DHP 1.5) then disconnect the battery over night to make sure TAPS and EVERYTHING is cleared. Then I'll go for a cruise until my LTFT's settle down and such then start logging and go from there. During the week I'm going to try and get UVscan to work, and read through the DHP manual some more.

Re: 2000 GTP: I Can Jump Myself!

Not anymore, I already ****ed myself lol. I'm throttling back (pun) and gonna take it slow. I might work 2 days next week, but short of that, I'm off until the week after New Years. I'll be tuning then.
