Well which ever one works better! I'd like to do allot of this stuff too.. I'm glad you still have the car! I'm currently on page 21 of your thread so I'm not completely caught up to the current state of your car..

It's hard to say really since I haven't driven the car all that much, especially in hot weather with the 9C1 cooler. SO far I'd probably say the 9C1 works better. I'd love to hear your story, but take it from me start a build thread. I've done plenty of work on my truck and I posted about it (on FSB and FTC), but it was always in a "What did you do to your truck today?" type threads, and that was a huge mistake. I have to search through 8 or 9 different threads trying to track down what I have done to it and what not. Having a build thread gives you one spot to consolidate everything you've done to the car. If you start one post the link in here and I'll check it out!
Today I might be installing a second battery in the trunk, it's a 850 CCA truck battery so I'll have 1650 CCA total. I'm still kind up in the air on it though, so we'll see what's up.

Well, the lights dim with the stereo and I've been trying to that to quit (the stereo has to be LOUD). I also have 2 heated seats as opposed to 1, and whenever I get my intercooler setup I'm going to have some smaller fans on them. They only pull 12 amps so I don't really need them for the fans, but everything adds up, lol. I'm going to have an old starter solenoid (that is a continuous duty solenoid) to isolate them too, so I can jam out whenever I want without worrying about killing the main battery. It'll also work vice versa, if the main battery dies I can jump start myself whenever I want. I just had the idea last night so I might just wait til next weekend and make sure I have all the kinks worked out in my plan.

Not a lot has happened these last few weeks. I FINALLY got a descent looking set of halos, just haven't gotten them installed yet. I have been working on some schematics to change up the alarm a bit. Right now 1 of the aux channels roll the windows down, and another opens the sun roof. I'm going to install small rocker switches in the glove box so in the winter I can have the alarm turn on defrost and turn on the heated seats. The defrost section will be easy enough, just like how the "Auto" on the climate control is. The heated seats will be a little more complicated, here's the schematic I've thrown together for that:
Yesterday I also finally got around to installing the rear wheel well liners. That was easy enough, and I got some more rust related weight reduction from the passenger side. That'll get fixed with the rockers, I'm not too worried about it since it'll be covered with the bumper, the fix won't have to be pretty.

Am I missing something on the heated seats?
If you send 12+ to the seat module turn on from the alarm, the seats will work as long as you've left the switches in the correct position. Aka cavity C
If you put power directly to the elements, you need IIRC a 15/20amp line maybe a 30. Plus.. you don't want to give them full on power. The module gives them different levels, I don't believe either is full 12V
I forget what kind of alarm you ran, the Viper i installed had an output to feed the HVAC aka defroster. I found the proper wire out of the switch up front to do it.

I was helping a friend recently with his Viper and saw that output, I wish mine had that but it doesn't. I was going to use the output of the alarm to the defrost wire, but that would result in 2 or 3 relays (since my alarm doesn't have the option for a latched output, only a 0.8 second pulse) and the HVAC wouldn't have control over the defrost (I assume the HVAC has a timer programmed into it or something of the sort). I'll have 1 relay that connects the 2 solder pads next to the "Defrost" button inside the HVAC head unit, same thing I did with the "Auto" button.
For the heated seats, I'm doing something similar. The relays will be acting like switches, and won't be taking much load at all. The relay will connect +12v to the Pink and Lt Blue wires at the heated seat switch, which will trigger the high mode. The 4 relays are needed as follows: 2 for the latching circuit (Thank you, my alarm), 1 to change the trigger polarity over to positive, and one to ACTUALLY turn the heated seats on....and some diodes here and there to isolate the switch from one another. I have an Excalibur al-2050-edpb.

You might want to read up even further on the pink wire.. Because it doesn't just get 12V. It's a certain ohm that tells the seat module what to do. I forget the values.. but there's two values one for high, one for low. You'd be all set though if you simply put 12V to the lt blue and left your rockers in the correct positions. Likely being winter, you'd have it on.
As for switching via relays, yes.. I'm totally with you. I would always snag the smaller relays for doing a momentary on/off latching.

Already ahead of you on the relays, I have some micro-relays from some old one touch modules I'm going to use, about a 1\2 inch cube. I was going off of the schematic of the switch, in High both the pink and light blue wires get 12v, in low the light blue wire gets 12v and the pink wire gets something less (there's a resistor sign inside the switch on the left). I don't know the value of the resistor, but I'm not looking for low mode. The plan is to pull the heated seat switch (or use a spare if I have one), and check resistance levels between the brown (+12v), pink, and light blue wires on the 3 different switch settings.

Yeah..what I'm telling you is in both high and low there's a resistor value to use. But then again..if you turned your switch to high and gave blue power..you'd be done.

These 04+ seats get a lot hotter than the 97-03s so they don't stay on all that long once there is an ass in them to keep the heat in, so I'm trying to avoid having to leave the switch on beforehand. When the time comes I'll be checking resistance, lol. I never said I wouldn't, haha. I'll just pick up a resistor for whatever value the switch gives me, and go from there.
