2000 grand prix rims help!!!

Hey guys i have a 2000 grand prix se, 3.1 motor. This car had 15 inch steel wheels. I changed them to 16 inch alloy or mag wheels. they have been fine except twice i sounded like the cv joint was loose but it wasnt. the front rims had the lug nuts(all five on both front rims) so loose the fall off. My question is what if anything could caUSE lug nuts loosin up like that.

Not to sound like an A$$ or anything but usually either not getting the wheel flush with the hub when tightening the lug nuts or forgetting to fully tighten them down once the car is back on the ground. Ive even done it back in my more youthful arrogant days when I "knew exactly what I was doing"

Or possibly aftermarket lug nuts that really really suck. Factory lugs rarely EVER back themself off when fully tightened

do you have aftermarket lugs? if the seat of the lug is the wrong style they could loosen up.

are you running aftermarket spacers? you need longer studs so that the lug can tighten on more.

Lol I did that once took my tire off cuz I got a flat took it into the tire place put the tire back on and forgot to tighten the lugs down, I only lost 3 of the lugnuts before I noticed something was wrong.

ok, we had it worked on by a shop and we tightend them up after 25 miles. They are factory lugs. all four wheels.
