2000 Daytona

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Glad the car running stout.

How did the oil pressure sensor work out?

Haven't had time really since I got the car back. I should hopefully have it on Tuesday on my day off, and I should be picking up another surprise that I will post that day ;)

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Quick boring story for everyone to read lol A buddy of mine just got his hands on a G8 GT a few weeks ago, and so far he's got headers/exhaust and an intake. Well last night at Woodward me, him, and a few friends were all hanging out and he asked me about my car. I told him what I had done and the times I was hoping to get in the 1/4, and he asked me to race. Me being me, I said yes lol. Fast forward to the race, we did two pulls, both from a 25 roll. At first I pulled on him, not by much but it was noticeable and by the time we hit about 90 (yea I know, that's reckless lol) we were just about even, bumper to bumper. I'm not gonna say I beat him, but at the same time, he didn't beat me. I was just happy knowing I kept up with a G8 :)

This was this morning, on the way to work. Figured I'd do a pull to show you guys. I need to get some better tires up front, if I don't baby it like I did in the video, I don't get traction at all lol :(

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

did you file your TPS reports properly?

Not to sure, I figured it'd be in the tune since I told them I was on an LS1 TB. I erased the codes from my Aeroforce and so far they haven't come back. Ill see what happens in the next couple days.

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Nice pull on that video and goods news that your motor is running well.

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Right over your head lol

Screw you Monkey lol

need a better driver, not better tires.

To be honest, these Falkens are the fastest wearing tires I've ever had lol The back ones aren't a whole lot better.

Thanks man, I'm super happy with the results of everything :)

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Yea they handle pretty well for what they are, and the price I paid, but I'm not impressed a whole bunch with the wear.

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

I had great luck with the Falkens I bought. Sucka.

Is it tuned yet? Also: you should get Bill to wire the car, lol.

It's still on the ZZP tune, besides retuning the trans completely. And the SES light came back on, but no TPS or MAF codes came back, just P1133. I'm thinking bad O2 sensor.

Re: Daytona 500 NIC Cam (Heads/GenV On!)

Well I had quite the interesting weekend, it was great all around. Friday my Racetronix pump came in the mail so when I got home from work that night, I went to go install it. Turns out its not the factory pump, so it was a non-venturi canister. After a few suggestions, and many many complications, I decided to wait until the next day and went to a junk yard and picked up a venturi canister. Got the pump in and running, and so far all was well. Fast forward to that night, Nawar, our buddy Steve, and I go out to woodward. We were at a light and when it turned green I creeped into a small WOT pull in first. Not even 2 seconds later I hear the car completely fall on its face and give out. Pull over on the side of the road, and go figure, no fuel pressure :( Since Nawar was on his bike, Steve drives me back to my house to get some tools to pull the fuel pump back out. We get back and I pull the pump and the corrugated hose slipped off the top of the canister. Drove to home depot, got a clamp, and put it all back together and the car starts lol

So far so good, and with the new pump I'm down to minimal KR. I've only seen .5 at most at the top of 2nd.

This is off topic, but this past Sunday was my 21st birthday so I thought I'd show my awesome cake that my mom got me :D
Hookah Cake

And my first "legal" beer ;)

And finally, thanks to RareGMFan, and after 6 months of not having one, I got my rearview mirror installed. I even got a compass now :)
