So when I pull the engine this summer I was thinking I might as well do a cam with all my other sh*t, so I was wondering what you guys were thinking on the VS comp cam?

Yeah Im looking in to one, if i get one i think im going to get the 90# springs and retainers, might as well do it while i have the engine out. With my new computer will i have to get it reprogramed for it?

That's what I run ;). Short answer No...you can run it without reprogramming it but your'll be benefiting yourself even mine by getting it retune.

I still the same tune for the time being so I can put some miles on the motor before I drive 8 hours to have it tuned.
 


You'll be safe either way but hey if you have money for a cam you might as well benefit it as much as you can with a tune :) plus your going through all that work

Haha yeah i just cant wait to get my summer job and get this build on started, im looking for another DD right now so i can start takeing apart the gtp and getting it ready!

I'm wondering the same thing. I didn't realize there were 5 pages. I was thinking a VS cam with retainers and springs. Not sure if I needed other accompanying mods with that. This is all in addition to a 3.4 pulley and mods for that. Wasn't sure if I need roller rockers for that cam.

On zzp it says you dont need anyting, if your over 90.000Miles then they recomend Retainers and spring but thats it, it seems like

Yeah I just wanna know some first hand stuff besides what zzp says. i would always replace the springs and retainers with new cams. And a tune of course. As for driveability of that cam I've been looking on youtube for vids of it.
