740s are nice, I'm more of a 850 sedan or wagon fan myself, I worked at a Volvo dealership when I was younger and got to drive lots of different Volvos, I also like the 960 with the inline 6.

LPT's are lame.
Get a turbo, or build one.
740's were RWD, same with the 900 series. 800's were FWD.
That and the possible lack of emissions testing on the older cars should be worth something.
However there are many cool things you can get for any of those cars.

I love the moronic term that is "pre gen." As it makes no sense. The generation of Grand Prix they come from are 94-96, 5th generation of GP. 1st generation of w-body.

You dont know what Pre-Gens are?
These rims came on the older style Grand Prix's, hence the name "Pre-Gen," as in Pre-Generation. They look almost identical to what is on your car now, but the offset is sex on these 97-03 GP's.

finaly got that crap off, tomorrow car is getting dropped off at the dealer ship to get tires and alined. Glad my grandma works their I get the grand son disscount= 0$ out of my pocket

This makes me giggle. I've seen this before, you're lucky you didn't get flamed like the last guy that brought this up.
The REASON its referred to as "Pre-Gen" is because its the PREVIOUS GENERATION compared to what is common among this forum. In case you didn't notice, there are no 1-4th gen GPs up at the top header, or on the bottom header. We commonly work on 97-08 with the 3800. This is predominately a 3800 only forum with a mix of the 5.3 GXP owners and their lack of normal problems.
We do yes, have a FEW members that run the old generation cars, but not common or active as we have no big support for that body-style or old motors. We have a few 3100/3400 92-96 guys that are active, but even they understand WHY we refer to them as pre-gens, altho, they get them stock so they just tend to say :th_nanana:
Not to mention pregen is alot easier than 92-96 and there were several wheels offered at the time. 3 being 5 spokes, 2 being twisted so then you have to specify the honeycomb or the straight thin 5 spoke wheels and ain't nobody got time for that.
So you can take your "it makes no sense" elsewhere. It does.

Ha, on another note the bill for my car just got bigger, they could not a line it because a wheel barring and tie rod was so bad they could not a line it so now were looking and about 1500$ and I don't get her back till tomorrow, I MISS MY GRAND PRIX :th_frowning::th_angry-censored:

Yeah I hope so, the thing that bumbed me the most was I wouldent have the gp for prom so my uncle cheered me up, by letting me take his 2005 Gmc Envoy Denali 5.3 V8, its lowered, and I like that way it sits, but i shure do miss my GP):
