1998 Grand Prix A/C Issues

I have a 1998 Grand Prix GTP with the digital (automatic) dual climate control system. About a year ago, the A/C stopped working. My parents left the car sit over the whole winter and all it needed when we woke it back up was a spark plug wire and a battery (I don't know if that's important info or not). Anyways, I know it needs a new compressor, but someone told me the actuator vent needed replaced. I had someone recharge the system to see if it was leaking (it is), and he put in 12 ounces of R-134a. It blew very cold on the passenger side, but no matter what I did, the driver side would only blow ambient air or heat. I'm not sure if it's just because it didn't have enough freon or the actuator vent is bad. And if the vent happens to be bad, how should I go about replacing it?
Thanks in advance!

Search about the blend door problems. Likely one has gone bad and not letting the air move to the drivers side.

Or double check that the middle vacuum line on top of the vacuum tree on the supercharger is still running down the passenger side of the engine bay into inside of the vehicle. Then follow it inside and make sure none are broken or popped off.

Just let it finish leaking out and then swap the compressor and fill it back up with the correct amount after you vacuum the system out
