1998 DIC in a 2003?

I was at the junkyard yesterday and took a Digital Information Center (DIC) out of a 1998 Grand Prix GT. It def doesn't look like it's just plug and play and I was wanting to put this in my 2003 Grand Prix GT. I was wondering if anyone has done this and has any pointers? I know it will involve some wiring and my bf is getting a wiring diagram from his work so we can "convert" it. I hope it works, if not it won't be a great loss cause I got it for $5 :)
 


Just the lights inside of the DIC are worth more then $5 lol. I took one out of a 2000 gtp and tried putting it in my 2001 gtp and it didn't work for some reason.. I was wanting to put it in my brothers 02 GT.
 
as far as i know, the 97 DICs are the only ones which don't fit the 98-03s. granted they are in working condition and the trac/tcs button matches the stocker.
you'll have to splice some wires, but should be good to go.

Yeah it will work. If you didnt already, you need the digital DIC's connector that plugs into it. If you didnt get that you need to go back and cut about 5 inches back and bring that connector home. Then you remove the old DIC and splice the wires (about 20 of them) together.

I used this write up. Took me a good 3 hours of work, but worth it.

Yeah I got the wires as well as the connector that goes with it. I've just been a little confused, because in reading about these some people say that the 97s only work on the 97s and others say they will be fine; either way I'm determined to make this work. :)
 
As long as you got a 98-03 DIC, then it will work with your 03.

The only way it wouldnt work is if you got a 97 DIC.
