Re: 1997 Black GTP - Full Size Intercooler, Installed.

Nothing wrong with dexcool? Is that why GM lost the class action lawsuit that had them shelling out millions in compensation to those who had work done because of the sludge?

I have service records on my Impala that shows the coolant replaced every 30k, and at 130k when I did my swap I also have pics which clearly show the coolant passages in the head almost 100% plugged with the sludge. Nothing wrong with dexcool? Pfffft....

How about we don't start an arguement in my thread. Thanks.

To each their own. You do your thing, and I'll do mine.

When you got your car, was the coolant flushed regularly? Mine had 120000 miles on the original coolant so I flushed mine for conventional green.

Yes, luckily my car was well maintained before I purchased it. So I personally have not had bad luck with dexcool (the newer formula) with any of my vehicles.

This ^

The maintenance on my car has been meticulously taken care of. Plugs changed every 10k miles, coolant flush twice now, two transmission pan drops in 50k miles, oil change every 2800 miles, etc.

I take care of my car, and I'll use the fluids that tickle my fancy. Capisce?

Lmao? Coming from one of the most opinionated persons on the forum. Can't hardly find a thread where someone did something to their car where you didn't jump in just to say how much you disliked it. Some has you ***** whipped I see...

Don't worry, I won't soil your thread with truth or any evidence contrary to your opinion. :th_peaceout:

Well I didn't know if you bought it with higher miles like mine where no one changed any fluid other than the oil. Sorry for sparking a conflict.

Re: 1997 Black GTP - Full Size Intercooler, Installed.

Yeah, my bad too. Its a hot topic for me I can't resist. Sorry.

On topic...your car is looking badass! Plan on getting dyno done?

I said, enough.

Why can't we keep this simple? You worry about yourself and I'll worry about myself.

You're all good man!

Re: 1997 Black GTP - Full Size Intercooler, Installed.

And if you all want to keep up the keyboard warrioring, I'll just delete whatever Dan wants me to since it's his thread.

How about that?

WTF, I goto work for 3 hours and miss all kinds of drama. We need to have a circle jerk and sing Kumbaya.

All kidding aside, car looks great!

Yup your right.. But 99% of my opinion are purely on looks not a Dexcool debate that's been talked about a zillion times already and usually it's the same guys that have been around long enough to know that's it's nothing serious it's just poking fun. Have you been through Dans thread.. Dudes anal in a good way he's not going to go 15 years and a zillion miles with the same Dexcool in his system so once again he"ll be fine with it. I don't blame him using to different coolant just makes leaks easier to pinpoint and troubleshoot down the road.

Re: 1997 Black GTP - Full Size Intercooler, Installed.

Yeah, the different colored coolants makes perfect sense to me! Would be cool if all coolants had a different UV dye in them, make it simple to figure out what's leaking today by waving a little UV flashlight over the most recent puddles. No dirty finger necessary. Bet I'd make millions if I designed my own color coded line, mostly from 3800 owners likely... :)
