Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Thanks man.

Runs good besides an exhaust leak. Other than that, I have no complaints.

And I agree, this car with a baby seat, will be badass.

Please buy a recaro one lol. I decided that will be the first baby item I purchase when I become a dad eventually

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

How's Le Tune holding up? Still getting good AFR?

Havent really gone WOT lately because the exhaust leak makes my ears bleed. But as far as I know, it is still spot on.

But how much does a Recaro baby seat cost, though?

Probably a fortune.

I think your missing the whole point of parent hood.. It's all about buying important things and managing your money.. A recaro seat isn't going to be cheap by any means and I'm sure any reasonable priced car seat will do just fine and leave money for other things that I'm sure the baby is going to need

First off I know about managing my money is about. I'm not a dad but I manage my money as well as save as much as I can and pay my bills on time. Secondly it's 220 bucks and I think as a car enthusiast and if you have the money laying around it would be a fun purchase.

They may have very well gone down in price last I checked a few years back they were in the $400 range which was ridiculous and IIRC he'll need a infant car seat for awhile and I don't believe they make those. It's all about saving money..things like formula and diapers and food get expenses for a little one and add up quick. You can't cut corners like you would for yourself and go on a strict ramen noodle diet for the week until you recover.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I'm with Red on this.

Would I love a recaro baby car seat? Absolutely. But just shelling out $250 is a lot.

I don't have a lot of money by any means. I'm a college student with a job paying $11 an hour and a weekend job paying $10. With that income, all my money will go to supporting my kid.

If I win the lottery, I'll buy 5 recaro baby seats, but for now, I'll have to make do with the tight money I have

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Meh. 250 isn't honestly out of the realm of reason. We paid ~$200 for the car seat in my car.

I understand. School is important. And a dollar don't get you far anymore. Maybe you can get a car seat from a family member or something. Id be using all resources possible

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Decided to browse the junk yard today, as they had some 4th of July sales.

Ended up finding a Northstar throttle body with sensors, cruise control, and in good condition for $19. Came off a 2002 Cadillac DTS. Just needs a decent cleaning and i'll paint it black as well.

Now ill be in the process of buying an LQ4 MAF and a throttle body adapter plate. Then a tune from Josh. Should be a relatively cheap upgrade.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

$100 new for the adapter plate + $40 for the TPS/MAF/IAT wiring harness to convert from L67 to N* 5-pin setups.

Hopefully I'll be able to find a used one and then sell my current adapter plate to help fund the money.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

You might wanna hit that Joey guy up. He was wanting to go GenV and keep his L67 TB.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Ill need everything before I sell my adapter plate.

If I can get a good deal on adapter plate and LQ4 MAF I'll buy it right away.
