A buddy of mine has projectors, almost the same as what I bought with VVME 8K HIDs and the light output is not bad at all. It's easily as good as my stock capsules with HIDs. I'm not worried at all about light output.

I didn't mean to imply that you should be worried... I am just wondering since both EBay projectors and retros use basically the same internal parts what the output difference is... If any.

I had projectors on my old green car and I didn't like them a whole lot. And.. the halos would make the hvac unit flicker and such. So when you wire yours get them independently sourced

Your light output will still be better for sure. But ill most definitely do a comparison. I'd like to see the difference as well.

My idea with wiring the CCFLs is Power/Ground to a switch in the cabin of the car, then back to the battery.

Sound decent or no?

i think that's a good idea. iirc mine just ran into the stock harness. IF i remember correctly. it seems there was optional wires to wire it independently but it could run off of the stock harness.

I just figure running it to a toggle switch next to my heated seat switch, so I can turn them on/off when ever I feel, and the run the wires back to the battery to ensure a good power/ground.

The biggest pain in the ass will be running the wires through the firewall and back out again. I hate doing that.

Brandon is getting good at that... Only run one wire btw... Use the switch as an interrupt

Let me get this straight.

Run the power wire from the CCFLs to the switch in the cabin then back out to the battery.

Run the ground from the CCFL straight to the battery, no need to go to the switch?

Close... Run power from fuse box inside car to switch then out to CCFLs. Ground CCFLs under the hood.

don't think it matters if its ran off of a switch.

but goin thru firewall is easy, use the rubber boot in pass floorboard. and yes josh is right i have done all of the running of wires in his car. however i dont take credit for the jumble of mess under his console :th_tongue2:

I do use that rubber grommet in the floor board, but mine is damn pain in the ass to get out. It absolutely sucks.

I'm already dreading it.

You could run them to the corner lights.

Problem solved. And they would blink with your blinkers which is also cool.
