Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

They are Platinum's, don't know if you care or not.

Either way, if you want them, they are yours.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Pretty sure platinum plugs would not have caused your issue so soon. IIRC they just crap out WAY faster then other plugs. Plus the fact that they are 103's not 104's also would not cause you any KR.

Im not saying they are the problem...

It was just a guess.

Either way, 103's are to cold for my setup plus Platinum Plugs should not be used. Now put the two together, and I have some poopy plugs, for my setup anyways.

AL104 Copper's is what I should have. $12~ later for new plugs, and my car will be a bit happier.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

$12 every 3k.. sure why not lol

youre gonna get GOOOD at changing your rear bank

Pretty sure Coppers last 15k, Iridiums last like 100k.

These blowers love the copper core, but you wouldn't know that :D

Doing the rear's isn't that bad, it's a matter of finding the hole in a tight space and sticking it in there.... That's what she said.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

I ran my 104's for 15k miles and they were still ok but I changed them just cuz.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Went to AutoZone.

Grabbed some AL104's

Put them in the car, didn't take long at all. Turned the car on, checked the Torque app for Misfires, nothing.

So that's always good, no misfires.

Car seems to run much smoother, unless that's just in my head.

Didn't seem to fix the KR issue at all though, still seeing 4-5* at WOT. I'll just hold out until the new fuel pump and finished tune and all should be good.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

If it doesn't make a difference with the KR I would consider going back to 605s or TR55s. The 104s are 2 ranges colder and usually not needed until you go cammed or I/C or heavier mods than a 3.4/3.5 setup.

Your choice, don't think it will cause any major problems, but I think the plugs are colder than what you need.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Plugs are cheap. So I could try it for sh1ts and giggles.

I think I'll just wait until next week, after the fuel pump is in and go from there.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Alright. Another Update.

Brought the car into the shop the other day, just got it back a little while ago.

New fuel pump in place and few tweaks on the tune.

Went with this Fuel Pump here. ZZPerformance - ZZP350 in Tank Fuel Pump #ZZ-350ITFP

Andrew had nothing but good things to say about the car after all is done. KR has dropped quite a bit, LTFT no longer stick at 16.4 at idle.

The old fuel pump was just sh1t. Andrew said this car pulls much harder than he expected. He said it runs like a champ, and is very surprised how hard it pulls. Ideally, he said a 3.6 with more timing would of been even better. Since its a '97, he calls it the "Bastard Child" and the tune was a pain in the ass to get dialed in but now it runs like a raped aped.

LIM gaskets are very bad, so thats next on the list. Will be getting done next saturday with Josh and Brandon.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Good Deal Dan!!! glad all those $$ are comin together.
So you got a good HP kick with the 3.5,tune and headers....Is it an extremely noticeable difference?(I know stupid question)

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

To add... New 180* tstat went in cause the other one wasn't working correctly. Boost gauge is also fixed plus the car sees roughly 10psi and ~20 vacuum at idle.

Might try AL605s eventually.

And yes, there is quite the difference. Day and night difference in my opinion.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

what fixed the LTFT?

and let me know about the fuel pump, i went with racetronix but would like to hear how this one works out for you.

did you do the rewire kit?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

The new fuel pump fixed it i believe.

I'll make sure to keep you updated on how it works.

Forgot to mention, Andrew said this engine is very stout and handles any KR like a champ, which is good to hear.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

hmm, that is weird. how would the fuel pump effect the LTFT?

+16.4 mean the pcm is adding additional fuel

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

yeah I'm not sure how the fp is affectiong the ltft but... I guess it's possible. 3800s are stout Dan I hope the same is true about mine since it knocks its ass off. lol.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, No More Dinner Plate.

Dan (dsmuts) said my LTFT could be sticking at 16.4 because of a failing fuel pump.

Either way, new pump in and for whatever reason, it never comes to 16 4 anymore.
