1992 chevy cyclone??

As much as Id love a GN or GNX, a Syclone seems more of a sleeper to the general public.

Think about it, most people who saw a Syclone or Typhoon sitting in the parking lot would think its just a regular Sonoma or Jimmy with an air dam, fog lights and vinyl decals. They wouldnt assume its sitting on a 4.3 AWD turbo. The GN/GNX is more recognized by people as being a Turbo car.

Syclone/Typhoon FTW.

Grand Nationals are just sexy though a friend of mine got his dads not knowing what he had Sold it for 1/3 of what it was worth to buy a camaro

there are no pics of the said GNX, coulda been a 84 hot air GN for all we know. but its on the internet so it must be true

No it's true. Plus the two Typhoons and one Syclone that were C4C'd...

If anyone wants information on Syclones (NOT CYCLONE) and Typhoons please go to SyTy/SGT Forums you'll find anything you've ever wanted to know about them.

Whoever said think of them as an awd GN, please DON'T. They share absolutely NOTHING in common whatsoever. Also I just re-read the title of this thread....92 Chevy Cyclone? Every word is wrong! lol Syclone's were only made in 91 and GMC made them, not Chevy. The Typhoon (SUV) was made in 92 and 93. Both models were very limited production with less than 3,000 made of each vehicle.

I used to own a 1994 Oldsmobile Bravada with a full drivetrain swap from a wrecked 93 Typhoon. It was fast as ****, would spin all 4 tires through first gear from a roll. About 500tq or so...All from a 17c turbo with a couple bolt ons at 16psi.

You wouldn't expect this piece of **** to be a mid 12 second car would you?

what are u talking about? the supra is in the middle lane and schooled both the syclone and sc300. The car thats filming is the sc300.

My old boss has a syclone, origonal sticker in the window, and 8,000 miles. It just sits in his garage.

Sorry, same engine, different car. (2) Heavily modded 2JZGTE cars get their asses handed to them by a Syclone

Not off hand but there are articles out there. There is picture proof of the two Typhoons and one Syclone that got axed. The Syclone was attempted to be saved, members of a SyTy chapter in Kentucky I believe were going to gather $4500 and pay the dealership the money the government would pay them so they could save the truck. But the paperwork was already processed and it was hauled off to the wrecker...

Thats the saddest thing ive ever heard.

I use that example just to get the idea in the person's head of what it is since I know a few people who have never heard of Syclones/Typhoons (of course with obvious differences). It's a turbo 6 and are fast right out of the box. Made at almost the same time to.

But that's a bad example because then people take the GN part and run with it.

"Turbo 3.8! Same as a GN!"

Just tell em how it is, it's a piece of **** stock 4.3 with lower compression pistons and a Mistubishi turbo slapped on it. Then they'll remember! ;)
