17" cobra wheels on a GXP

here is the other cobra rims on a gxp. I think it looks good, but would lover it to lessen the wheel gap because they are smaller then stock http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/4306755116.html

Those are 99 cobra wheels and there 17x8. The ones he's looking at are 17x9 from the 03-04 Cobra.

I dont see how he will rub unless he's slammed with some 245/45s. Many folks have ran that size before. Some have also ran 275s with no problems.

The wheel gap remains unchanged when you change wheel sizes as long as the tire diameter remains stock.

correct, however, there is a very massive tricking your eyes into seeing more wheel gap that happens.

so before wheels, lower the car.

I don't see extra wheel gap with smaller wheels. Hell I put 15" steelies on my Stealth and the wheel gap looks no different than when I was running the 17's. Even before I lowered it on the coilovers the wheel gap looked exactly the same between different size wheels.
