Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

12 sec budget GTP

If you need more choices pros and cons of a drag tire on 16s id suggest looking in the honda threads there are some new slicks out too from a few companies.
Pretty sure turbos guys are running over 130 traps on stock size or impala brakes fit under 16s just fine it just takes a good rotor and ceramic pads!!

I can, I have stock brakes but with a second engine and 130mph+ trap speeds which are a goal for this car, I think they will have a hard time stopping the car at 4100lbs !!
LS1 brakes should work just fine for that setup. If all else fails strap a parachute to it and call it done. :)

I've been looking at tire options tonight more in depth and I think what I'm going towards is having a seperate set of rims for the track. Sticky Drag radials are not that practical to drive the track I have an hour of driving. I have dirt roads to go through which will throw rocks all over the body (sticky radials do that). I may just go with pure slicks on 15" rims and race it like that. then switch to me street tires. I'm not a big street racer and anyways even on my winter tires I'll smoke anything beside me since it will be AWD and 800HP+ lol.

I'm really falling in love with the 3.8/SC combo. Instant tire roasting power. That's something I was always missing even on my 550HP AWD turbo 4 bangers. Lots of power but laggy unless I used antilag off the line.
Two of these torque monsters will be so much fun, I can't wait...

I ran grand am brakes as a downgrade so I could run 10.5x28x15s on mustang rims .. stopped fine from 140 traps.

Getting 130 traps out of that car will take 550+whp.

Also, I drive my fiero on slicks/skinnies all year and I live on a dirt road.. its not a big deal, even handles ok in the rain. You do have a gtp with a trunk so toss the slicks in the back and switch them there.

^^^ what he said. For drag racing small brakes will stop the car fine. Its when you start driving like an idiot somewhere running from 130 down to 60 multiple times in a row that you start to appreciate the Fbody brakes. That why I have them.

That is impressive on such a budget.
Which injectors are you running though?
I don't see the stockers flowing a 2.6 pulley car well, if at all.
I would go with a Triple Edge Performance (TEP) built transmission, I guarantee it'll be the best $ you'll spend on this car.

You guys didn't see my track yet. It is not only a slow and track but it is very rough going down AND stopping is worse.
You really have to lay on the brakes even with my current trap speed of 107. When I had my 11 sec 125mph pump gas Talon, it was the limit for stock brake system, two runs in the row and I would have crashed it.

The end of the runway is very close to the finish line.

You have to look at the rotating mass and what brake will allow you to run a 15-16" rim for slicks. You need to lose some weight in the car if you can't get stopped.

I run stock injectors. I would be 100% duty+ but I'm running water/methanol injection with a large enough jet I actually have to take away fuel from a stock map.
I'm at about 90% duty at 40 lbs/min airflow with a lot of methanol injection. With methanol disabled my A/F ratio would be 13.5:1 vs 11.5 like it is now.

I also run a high volume pump and feed the pump with a larger power wire.

Hey guys just to let you know we are going to install the second engine in the next few weeks. It's official now.
Now I have to decide if I do it in my 2 door or the 4 door.

All that noise and tire heating up and a 16 poor Hondas :( lol nice time slip sir
Thanks...looking at the start, you could never guess a high 12 sec. My GTP off the line looks like a high 13 car at best. It goes good when I lay into it at 150 feet out..

I bought 2 more GTPs 700$ each, they work good, run and drive well. They had some small issues and not so good bodys (rockers) that I resolved quickly which is why the low price.
One ran on 3 cylinders and I had forgotten my scanner so when I bought the car I honestly didn't know for sure the engine was good. It didn't smoke and didn't overheat but I had guessed around 80HP at the engine full throttle.
I still bought it because in the first few seconds of start up it seems to run fine then it ran on 3 cylinders and ran very lean at full throttle.
Once I hooked the scanner I instantly saw the Coolant temp reading was 284F maxed out. So the ECU was simply protecting the engine by Fuel cut. Upon loading HP tuners and editing the code out it ran perfect and made full power. Of course it wasn't overheating at all and the dash indicated the correct temp.

All that for a coolant sensor failure or wire shortage.
The other GTP overheated but it was low in coolant. Not a good sign but it doesn't smoke at all and the oil is very clean even after a long drive. It doesn't drink anymore we'll see. Other than this is passes all the test with flying colors.
So I now have a spare engine for my twin engine GTP. We're starting the project hopefully this week.

I will be needing two sets of headers so anyone who wants to get rid of theirs let me know !

So awd basically? But twin engine to tower each set hmmm this is going to be interesting!!!
The goal is a reliable 10 sec car. Since I think at 400HP per engine I might be able to reach my goal.
Each trans has a load a 2100 lbs instead of 3400lbs which might help them survive.
Once my 10 sec goal is done, then we'll go for the 9 sec but I will probably have to put money in the motor/trans at that point.

Here are the donor cars.
In the meantime my rolling parts car will become my daily driver (4 door or my 2 door depending on which is going to be chosen for the twin engine)

and the rack we built to lift snowmobiles and for this project the back of the car.

and of course this 2 door high 12 sec GTP will be used for the twin engine or the 4 door. Either one will become a daily driver at that point.
4 door would allow easier access to the rear engine and possibly have a stronger frame. Undecided, your opinions are welcome.
