Taking LA flama blanca to the local drag strip tomorrow.

Didnt get a chance to put N* and LQ4 on. Got my racetronix hot wire kit in and racetronix pump in.
We will see what she runs. Will have time slip and hopefully a vid of run. Track opens at 5:30 so it will be later that night

Re: makin a 1/8 mile pass

I think my best 1/8 was an 8.2x?

Ehhh, I'll have to dig up the slip.

Either way, launch is key.

Re: makin a 1/8 mile pass

If you can get out on a week night... 2nd Thursday of the month $10 to race $2 to spectate at North Star Dragway.

Re: makin a 1/8 mile pass

Going out to Dallas raceway this Friday. Quarter mile track.

Scrapped northstar/lq4 for now. Installing injectors and fuel pump hotwire kit. Installing smaller sc belt to get rid of belt slip. Got some AL103 plugs and did me up a 75mm PVC intake.

Welded up my exhaust and got rid of my exhaust leaks. She is gonna run like a scalded ape...

Excited to see what it runs in the quarter friday

Re: 1/8 mile cancelled, doing 1/4 friday

what would prompt the use of 103s?

what exactly would happen if i ran the 103s?

Re: 1/8 mile cancelled, doing 1/4 friday

More misfires at idle, less fuel economy, shorter plug life.

Put some in and try them.

See how long you can go before you start hearing misfires at idle, then pull them out at inspect them. If they're black, they're too cold or you're running too rich. But then again, NIC, fuel just flys by at idle.

Re: 1/8 mile cancelled, doing 1/4 friday

best i could get out of it was a 14.1 @ 101.99mph

R/T-.650
60' -2.498
330 - 6.303
1/8 - 9.3
mph 80.10
1000 - 12.0
1/4 - 14.1
mph - 101.99

my first pass i literally white smoked the **** out of my tires half way down the track, put everyone in a huge cloud of white smoke, second pass i feathered into it, but still lost traction, 3rd time i feathered more but had slower time.

i just cant get it off the line quick enough with my old dry tires and busted suspension... the 101.99mph is proof i can make a low 13 pass, very high 12 with suspension and real good tires.

i left after 3rd pass, no point in trying with no traction.

Re: 1/8 mile cancelled, doing 1/4 friday

Needs driver mod?

Holy crap guy...I had the same 60 foot in the balt, LOL.

Also, 102~ MPH means mid to high 13's passes. I had low 60's for street tires (sub 2.0's) and trapped 99-101 on a 1.84 rocker/exhaust/3.5" setup.

If you're thinking basement 13's with that trap speed...then you need slicks.

Re: 1/4 Mile Results are in(no traction :-/ )

i dunno man, all i know is i had to come off the line real slow and then gradually get into the gas or i wouldnt go anywhere.. it was disappointing. the car feels 100x better with my injectors, pump, pump wire kit, and poly mounts.

but i just couldnt get moving from the start. my rear shocks are busted so i guess that has something to do with it. im sure i could pull off a 103-105mph pass if i could get off the line fast enough.

Re: 1/4 Mile Results are in(no traction :-/ )

If you get off the line faster your trap speed could potentially go down. Your terrible 60' is part of the reason your trap is where it is at. It's all bottom end, you're only picking up 20 mph in the 2nd half of the track.

If your rear struts are indeed shot that could definitely hurt your ability to launch since you are taking all the weight off the front on launch.

Re: 1/4 Mile Results are in(no traction :-/ )

could you explain more in depth. im a noob when it comes to these numbers. why would my trap go down if im able to keep traction off the line? would i not be gaining speed faster? thus giving me a much better 1/4 time?

i just looked in my wheel well, its coated with rubber from my tires :(
