'07 GXP - Bish is a little louder now

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

Was -15 out this morning.. tried auto starting the GP and it ran for about 4 seconds after a rough start then turned off and wouldn't let it be auto started again.. i go out and manually start it and the service light is on. i hear like a whining sound from the engine.. couldn't tell what it was really. it went up in pitch with the rpm's. went to o'reillys and scanned it and got this...

i just cleared it and its been fine. is this something serious or why would it through this code? It was fine on the drive home. Thoughts?

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

Hello Forum... Got some issues that hopefully some people can help diagnosis furthers.. First issue..
ABS lights come on after car is put in gear. Went to O'rielly's and scanned and got this..

had the guy look up the code. said it was speedometer sensor or whatever.. so i went to napa and picked up both sensor and connector. the senor could just have snow and crap on it or the connector could just be getting bad.. we'll see when i get it into the shop. The ABS lights don't come all the time but most of the time whether its right away when the car moves they come on or if i have been driving down the road and turn or something like that they turn on. Thoughts?

Second issue. I drove about 100 miles today and while the cruise is set at 75 the car seemed to lurch.. like the lurch you get when you're bucking 50 mph wind gusts on the interstate. RPMs would fluctuate from 2200 to 2600. tranny temp was stayed at about 180* ish and it is -10* out today with out no wind. The car wouldn't lurch much when cruise was set at 45mph or 55mph only when at speeds above 70 when constant. Also.. car would lurch during acceleration. Either going up a hill or on a flat ground. I would hold the peddle in one position for a constant acceleration and the car would lurch while on acceleration and not have a smooth constant acceleration so it felt.

now i've been talking to some people on the forum via text and could possibly be just the speed sensor causing all this? dirtdog things maybe even torque converter which makes me think it is even more the with the issue being with acceleration too. possible the car is just sick that its so damn cold out? I need to replace plug still also in it. could it be something as simple as the MAF sensor is getting dirty? car has 103.7K on it now. any info with this would be appreciated and if you have any questions just ask. Thanks.

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

so.. if anyone is curious or cares.... i replaced the front 4 spark plugs and that cured it. I kept having cyl. 1 and 3 misfires and they were pretty bad and needed to be replaced.. so that cured it.. still need to look into the speed sensor and replace the connector or whatever it needs.

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

negative. not yet. don't have clear coat, paper, and compound with me at school. took it home over xmas because it was going to be too cold to do anything outside... clearly i should of kept them.

just got back in from putting them back on the car.

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

That 3rd brake light will start to get on your nerves now that its the only thing red back there...regardless good job on the tails try and and get those tails clear coated. Rustolem auto clear is what I used 3-coats worth.

Re: '07 GXP - Is the snow gone yet?

Did you spray those inside and then use a blow dryer to cure them?
