06 GT SC starting problem

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, so please let me know if there's a better part of the forum to ask... Have an '06 Grand Prix GT (Super Charged) that just started having an intermittent starting problem. Turn the key and it clicks for about 20 seconds after I let the key go; then briefly turns over one time after the clicking stops. Turn the key again and the car starts. If this was a car I was familiar with, I'd say it's a bad starter. Battery and alternator both check out, so it doesn't appear to be a charging system problem.

I haven't looked underneath the car yet to see where the starter is, but I can't seem to find a starter for this engine at the usual Auto Zone, Advance, NAPA. I assume it has a starter... Anyone else ever had this problem and can offer some advice? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yea I would check all your basic connections also if your headlights dim severly id say its a battery alt issue id also have autozone test the charging system on the car as they do it free

Is it a solenoid click or a grinding click like the gear for the starter isnt connecting proper?

I'm having the same problem on my 04 gtp, but mine started one time, now it won't start. I had just finished a tune up but now i'm just getting the clicking sound, i was thinking the starter also but i can't see it from underneath because of the dust cover if i figure it out i'll let u know
