Can you put any 3 bolt ls cam in the ls4? Have to change the lifters I'm sure

Yeah, they make plenty of DoD delete kits...and aftermarket lifters would be needed...and I'm sure a different valley tray.

But, as long as I get it tuned out I think it all fits top end wise.

That may be a option for you down the road...pretty sure most of the 3 bolt oem ls cams would be bigger then your ls4 cam and still have a good idle for DD duty...there was a article I read where they put a ton of different oem ls cams in a 5.3 truck motor and most all made more power then the stock truck cam...ill try and find that article for you it makes for good reading
