05 GT Leak

I check my tranny fluid today after some harsh shifting and noticed there was none on the dipstick!! I noticed a leaking metal line on the radiator which im guessing might be a transmission cooler line. I have not noticed a leak under the transmission just from the radiator. I should add the radiator was replaced like 6 months ago. Maybe an o ring is torn or something.

How hard would this be to fix as far as replacing the line

What transmission fluid should I use, also where do i fill it? In my honda I pour it right down the dipstick.. same procedure?

Thanks
Chris

Yeah pour it down the dipstick tube. Make sure you check it with the motor warm and running. Use dex 3 on it. Clean it up and see where it's leaking from and go from there.

No it wasn't until later I know that for sure because on my comp g I used dex 3 because it's what it called for.

I have same problem my line is leaking, the lower one that goes into radiator. They look like quick connect lines is there anything special you have to do to swap those lines out? also Im going to do a filter and fluid change does anyone recommend a synthetic trans fluid to use.

the Dex 6 is retro for the dex 3 you can use it any any year GP and no no synthetic dex 6 is a "synthetic" and outperforms most trans fluids in the market.

I did on my 97 when I got it. Burnt ass dex 3 around the time the new dex came out. On the bottle and everywhere I read they said there wouldn't be a issue
They were right. Drove the wheels off it before I got the gxp . But I would get as much fluid out as possible change filter and start fresh as you can.

update guys... I went out and examined the lines a little more. They do not appear to be leaking but it does appear that the lower radiator hose is leaking. I put a qt of tranny fluid in the other day and it hasnt moved on the dipstick, but i put coolant in too and the reservoir is almost empty... Im guessing when they replaced the radiator they didnt put new transmission fluid in so it was low. Sound Logical?
