04+ Intake shots

I'm sure there's a ton of these threads but I'm trying to get an intake pieced together at the local hardware store. I'd like to see what the 04+ guys setup looks like. Seems everyone has a different variation just want to pick and chose the best looking setup.

$45 9" k&n cone with 4" opening. 2 couplers from home depot.. $3.50-4. 1 45* pvc. 3" with wider opening where it bows out to fit the 4" opening. $4.
Or autozone has the chrome angle tubes for $12 but there only 3" opening I believe. Ab d they have black, blue, or red couplers for $7-8

I brought my filter into home depot to make sure itd fit into the cone too by the way. I bought the wrong size pvc just by guessing. The tb is around 3-3.25" and the maf is 3.25" I think I read.I drilled a hole in the coupler and put the vaccum or pcv valve w.e it is n put it between the tb n maf..you can see in the first pic

I think I'm going to hack and cut my inner fender for a Fwi. Seems like my intake now sees quite the temp jump when viewing on Torque from my phone.

It's just a ghetto stock size k&n zip tied to the back portion of the stock intake. No front portion of the air box.

Eliminated all the stupid bends that add turbulence. I punched out a hole and fitted a grommet on the coupler attached to the throttle body to fit the breather hose. Used a low profile Spectre filter so it actually sits INSIDE my fender completely with no cutting required. Then used a roof baffle with some weather stripping on the edges to legitimately seal the come filter from the engine bay.

I'm headed up to Menards now for the parts. Can someone confirm throttle body diameter? I'm pretty sure it's 3" and the maf is 3.5" correct?

So 3" to 3.5" coupler -> maf-> 3.5" to 3.5" coupler -> 3.5" pvc (maybe a foot and cut to length) - roof flange - air filter.

Am I missing anything?

MAF might be 3.25. I honestly used 3 inch couplers only n it fit everything. Then I had to get the flared PVC because my cones 4 inch.

3.5" will still snug down on a 3" or a 3.25"...half an inch isn't that big of a deal (especially according to "she")

See the only problem I'm having with a few of these shots are.. Your pulling hot air into the intake from the engine bay, I'm trying to make a Fwi so I can get those IAT temps down.

i dont get hot air last summer when i drove id drive 19 miles (about 25 min) and I could drive at 80mph the whole way and when i get home pop the hood and my air intake would be ice cold tube and everything so i dont get hot air now if your in stop and go traffic your tube is going to get hot regardless and and your going to get hot air even if your filter is sitting in the fender or lowers. Putting the filter in the fender is only going to make the air have to travel further and take more chance of heating up.
