• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

'04 Comp G - took a stiff one in the rear

GP is getting put up for the winter! Got me a beater for free.99 the other day. Put a battery, alternator and belt tensioner in it and it purrs like a kitten. 4.3, 2wd, manual windows and locks, all that fancy stuff. 225k on everything but the trans and TQ (10k) and the fuel pump (like 30 miles). Just need to afro-engineer a headlight bracket and fix a fuel line and brake line and it'll be good to go, just butt ugly

I'm not convinced a straight front clip would bolt up to the core support! Lol. I'll figure something out eventually, but for a little while it's gonna have to stay ugly.

OH! I forgot the best part! I popped the hood this morning to get to work on it, and I was greeted with THIS.

He doesn't look too scared of ya either.
He didn't move in the slightest unless I made noise. Ended up crawling down onto the frame and jumping out under the truck lol
Keep him and name him Frederick.

He's your new personal mascot.
I don't think Frederick liked me all that much. Lol

Well, dad has a stock hood from his 454SS he said I could have, so now I just need a fender and time to work on it

Woo!

All you need to get the new fender to fit straight is a big hammer.

If that doesn't work, get a bigger hammer. Lol

I'm thinking maybe hooking a ratchet hoist to the core support and something solid (maybe a tree or something), tossing the fender on, and ratcheting everything forward until the holes line up. It sounds good in my head, dunno if it'll really work or not. We'll see how it goes lol

I wanted to get a fairly built trans in the car before any big mods happened, but things just kinda fell into place. I'm trading my 1.9 rockers for an NIC cam

I HOPE I can get it in this winter. I'm considering E85 and mega small pulley too, but those might have to wait - stock trans is already gonna be upset, lol.

Photobucket is being a bag of dicks and won't let me upload pics. Anyway, the beater is getting a brake line to keep the car out of the salt, so it should be in storage within a week or 2
