'04 Comp G - took a stiff one in the rear

Re: '04 Comp G - SHINY

Well, it's settled. I'm putting in an order for Bilsteins sometime in the next couple of months, and after that some SSC springs for them. I'm gonna redo everything except the rear lateral arms ($500 for BMRs with adjustability I don't really need, so they can wait). LCAs, Dorman front sway, Addco rear, poly everything

Re: '04 Comp G - SHINY

Wooohoo! good choice man. I'm pretty happy with the height of my car so no more low for me :)

Re: '04 Comp G - SHINY

Mine's in 4x4 mode according to Red lol I just want it to handle as good as a GP can without getting into anything crazy

Re: '04 Comp G - SHINY

Suspension might be halted again. Went to back up last night, and... nothing, at first. I gave it a little more gas and it SLAMMED into gear, made a loud bang and started backing up. Checked fluid, doesn't smell burnt and it's at a good level. Dropping the pan and changing the fluid and filter here soon, and hopefully that'll be the end of it. Hopefully.

Do a shift kit while you are in there for sure if it has not been done, also make sure it has the bigger magnet or add a couple of smaller ones. The thin square magnet is junk.

Definitely. Also grabbing the ZZP cast aluminum pan, just in case the pan bends on its way out, plus now's as good a time as ever to upgrade, I guess

Re: '04 Comp G - making scary noises

That pan while it looks nice is known to strip the threads on the plug. Save yourself some aggravation and a lot of money and just add a drain plug to your existing pan.

Re: '04 Comp G - making scary noises

You can also just pic up a Dorman pan, it has a drain in it already. Stock pans won't bend unless you over tighten them. Also go with a Transog shift kit...NOT ZZP's shift kit.

Re: '04 Comp G - making scary noises

I would look into the shift kit from Intense also, unless it has plastic washers. ZZP is plastic I think and should be avoided.

Re: '04 Comp G - making scary noises

Agreed. Intense can firm up the shifts too much for a stock transmission (depending on the level you go with), it can cause premature wear on the hard parts. Transgo is the better choice for 99% of us.
