Guy at work want's to race me some time this week(not really into racing)but gunna try and get it on video and put it on here.

Launch advice? Don't go full throttle till 35km to avoid wheel spin right?

Specs are

98gtp
open cone/ram air
3.5 pullley
3 inch dp
Res Delete
Dhp computer
Bunch of other small things.

I do have 20inch rims... Will this kill me?

His specs are
03 jetta 1.8turbo auto/paddle shifters
Cold air.

Guesses of outcome/advice appreciated

1.8t's are slow as balls, not to mention that they are tanks for cars their size. I raced a manual VR6 jetta with minor bolt ons in my stock 2000 GTP and we were dead even til about 100 when I started pulling ahead. You'll win for sure.
 
There's a lot of modded 1.8Ts out there. What's he had done? Your wheels will slow you down but may not kill you.
 
1.8T's are much in stock form and depending it was either a 150hp or 180hp engine. The only 1.8T I'd worry about is from an 04 GLI or something newer.
 


Well i Raced him did get a video of it but its so choppy and dark and the camera guy is a moron. I'm gunna see if its worth salvaging.

He Did beat me from a stop by brake boosting even tho i started reeling him in fast at about 100 and then he threw on his brakes..... I Guess u could call that a win for him. "he jumped the gun big time as well"...

From a roll of 30km i got him by more then 6 car lengths before i threw on my brakes i was about at 180km, so we ended up calling it 1win each, he really wanted that first win....


What i learned from this.
20inch rims suck balls to race on.
Take out subs before racing for weight loss.

Probably right any pointers?

Also its not like i really lost its just he started early and was brake boosting so he got pretty far ahead and then braked when i started catching him.

Hold brake in Give it 3/4 gas up till 2Kish rpms let of brake and start rolling into the throttle you want to be WOT around 4,500 rpms
