01 GTP vs 04 F350

So, I was taking the wife and son home from playing at the park Saturday and we merge onto the interstate. I sped up to 70 and was cruising along and look behind me and there sits a red GP. He is about 10 car lengths back. I turn my left signal on to move over, because the guy infront of me is only running about 60. The GP driver steps on it and the front end come up. Idiot, I am in a 8k lb truck doing 70 mph, wouldn't even feel him if he touched me. I step down on the truck and move over. He changes lanes to the one I was just in and then whips back over behind me. There are 3 lanes of traffic.

I move back over to the middle lane after passing the car and he comes up beside me and I see the GTP on the door. I smile at him and shake my head no. He flips me off and punches it. I chuckled and stomped on my truck. Black smoke started pouring out and sure enough I walked right by him. Look down and I am at 105mph. Wife is telling me to slow down, so back down to 70 and here he comes for the ricer fly by. It didn't happen he ate more smoke.

I took the next exit and he did as well. Pulled in to the mall and he pulls up and I asked what he had done to it. 3.2 pulley, headers, CAI and a tune. He said he couldn't believe how hard my truck pulled at those speeds and I laughed and said I had a gear to go yet. Mine doesn't hit OD at WOT until 120mph.

Asked why he flipped me off and he said it was just to get me to run him. WTH??? I ran him before that without the bird being shown?

Weighing in at 8k lbs my truck runs the 1/4 in 12.3-12.5. Take the gooseneck out and the rear tire and tailgate and back seat with the tool box and it will run just under 12. 3 tunes for it. Race, Street and Tow.

I will stick to my GT and leave the modding to my 89 Thunderbird SC.

I find that very hard to belive... No way you would pull those times with a 6.0... unless you had a lot of money sunk into it.

ARP head studs, Personal SCT tuning, MBRP exhaust, AIRRAID intake, Bully Technocolor Intercooler. It's not hard to get those diesels to run good times especially launching in 4x4.

A lot of $ invested? Nope. Just under $1,500. The d'max with their weak front axles and a generic edge tune are running the 1/4 in the mid to high 12s. That was on Speed channel a few months ago. Put exhaust and an intake on them and they move pretty well, but then parts start needing replaced.

When the truck launches at 2,000 Rpms and it is putting down over 600 FT/TQ. The bad part is finding dyno shops that will let you bring a diesel in to get it tuned properly. Most dont have the ventilation system to handle the smoke.

97 Cummins with a long box extend cab. Now that one I put a lot of $ into and it would run low 11s, but it had a twin turbo setup and dana axles and pretty much nothing mopar but the frame and body.

Nice kill I got a kid around here he just got a duramax, I raced him before in his monte says my car is fast. I tell him its ok for a 4 door nothing special but he insists its fast. I suppose compared to a monte with just a 3.8 in it my car is fast lol but he wants to race his duramax against me we havent had the chance yet but I am pretty sure he is chipped with 4" exhaust. I have a feeling he might walk me.

Btw, even though your posting you killed a GTP on a Grand Prix forum ^_^ Nice kill i love to see built up diesels nothing like a bada$$ truck, you should get some videos of it maybe some burnouts a few pulls would love to see that truck blow that black smoke.

I need some time slips to beleive that, my 6.4 with a 345 spartan intake, dpf delete, intercooler, egr delete and exhaust will run a 12.8 all day with 15psi launches. My dodge has a few toys too... that should give you a good idea.

A 3.2" and headers with a tune and an intake? LOL prolly would have been a better race for him if he wasn't knocking like a mofo.

Its an 04 dodge it needs help. The emissions on the truck killed it. 97 Dodge is the quickest diesel I have seen in person. Think he was running 10.28 or close to that. See if I can find the video.

depends on what the truck was tuned for. a diesel is a lot different when it's for pulling a sled compared to running down a track.

buddy had a cummins for pulling sleds and the truck would only go like 85mph. it go there quick, but couldnt go any faster. then he switched the gearing and tune before he sold it and topped out at 125mph. u can do so much with turbo diesels its insane.

good kill though. not much of a ford fan, id rather be ramming it than stroking it.

Oh I agree there, with a small shot of nitrous i was in the 950-1000hp randge and still daily driving it. Had no problem smoking out three lanes of traffic with a stack, but it was fun.

Had a guy on a bike run the 4 way stop and I had already started to go, so I just kept going and when the pipes got near him let if blow black. He stopped then.
