'00 Impala LS - 5 Speed and Supercharged

New member
I've been a member here for a few years so I figure its about time to introduce my car. It's a 2000 Impala LS, which I did a Getrag 284 5 speed swap, LSD, a GenV top swap, XP cam, C5 brakes, HUD, among many other things. Its not a GP, but I think you will be able to appreciate it. This won't really be a build thread because the build has already been underway for a few years. If you want to see the full build thread, hit up the link in my sig. It would take forever to copy all of that over here, but I'll keep you updated with my current projects here.

Re: 5 Speed Impala

Thanks! The 284's been holding up real well. It rattles a bit at an idle, not sure why, but other than that it shifts really smooth and takes whatever I can throw at it (the car gets driven hard, real hard).

Re: 5 Speed Impala

Make sure you never miss a gear and booger up a synchro... about the only weak point in the trans.

Re: 5 Speed Impala

Yep, trust me I know. Took me 3 tries to find a good 284 and in the end I sent two of them to Jeff @ EP to make one good trans. I won't be grinding any syncros any time soon.

Re: 5 Speed Impala

Nicely done car! I may not understand why but I do understand how and believe in giving credit where its due. Man, I bet that thing freaks people out! What a blast.

Re: 5 Speed Impala

Love the w-bodies with 5 speed swaps. Makes them so much more fun to drive! Car looks great and still maintains that sleeper look. Looking forward to future pics and videos. I must have missed it. Have you dyno'd or hit up the dragstrip yet?
