Am I crazy for wanting to buy it? If I get a new trans for ~250 and install myself, I feel like I got a pretty sweet deal. Nada values it at 1850 for a rough trade in. I feel like with a working trans, it will be more around average territory, bringing the nada value closer to $2500... Do I pull the trigger?

It's in his driveway about 30 min from my house. He said it moves but keeps "spinning"... I wonder if some Lucas will stop the spinning enough for me to get it back home without a tow...

Tell him $500, jy will proly only give him $300 or so and that is his only other option.
He is just trying to get more than the jy.

Rent a dolly for like 40 bucks and give him 400 say you need to rent it to make sure it gets home

Check the fluid. You might get lucky and just have to put fluid in it or do a pan drop and filter change with a bottle of lucas.

Goin to look at tge regal in the AM. I found a used tranny at the local jy for $276... 110000 miles.

I figure the tranny weighs 200 lbs and should fit in the trunk of my park ave, maybe even without taking my woofers out.

Looking forward to this little project, thank y'all for the input.

Thats to easy. With low mile yu could easily get 2k out of it. I bought a 97 gt with 173k on it for 600,
fixed her up and sold it for 1500. It had 180k when i let it go. Lolz

Would you say put the old fluid back in? New fluid will surely toast it for sure, no?

No, put in new fluid. It's a trans flush that could kill it.
